This is, not even thinly concealed, an extension of the recent slough of homme-fatale vampire flicks, from the monstrous projection in Nosferatu to, God help us, the little sparkling twinks of Twilight where this began, straight to a fellow named Christian who is the American equivalent of an old country Count: a powerful industrialist who, well, will take your soul to Hell with his crop just as quickly as his predecessor would with a bite on the throat.
It is a very sick and toxic view of manhood, and feminists aren't complaining because they like it, both because it diminishes real men and because so many of them are little closet masochists to begin with who don't want equality nearly so much as to be able to complain about not having it. These are permanent victims by nature and preference. They relish it while pretending to hate it, and they'd be lost without it. If that isn't a perfect formula for a D/S relationship I'd love to hear a better.
Hence the success of this rather questionable but undeniably popular bit of titillation. It's sad, really, and it's funny as well.
The popularity of this movie and book, and the audience among whom it is so popular, is conclusive proof that feminism is a joke. It was never about its stated principles. It’s bullcrap.

I had no idea how far the S & M went in this book/ movie until I read your post. Absolutely repulsive and antithetical to how God wants us to treat our bodies that he created.
But then when I thought, leftist want to be slaves and the slave masters, they want to be laid low, humiliated, punished for their existence. They revel in the crushing others through perversity. It comes from doing wrong, turning their face from God. They burn for hell on earth, hoping it will purge them from the rot of their unnatural acts and play the role of the devil.
Heaven smite this movie so it does not influence others, but warn that evil is as seductive as it is corruptive.

Well let’s not be too hard on the young guys. Examine these facts.
1) The Washington Times reported that 1/3 of children are raised by a single mother.
2) Most school teachers are women.
3) Feminism has permeated the entire culture.
So women have more influence on boys. More than any other time in our history. And the culture in school is teaching what? Be sensitive. Be still. Don’t run. Don’t be loud. In other words, be a wimp. I remember 25 years ago being suspended from high school for getting into a fight. It did not matter who hit whom first. Both me and the other boy got suspended for the same duration. Now things are such more pc than even those days.
And those 1/3 of children in a broken home. Hmmm how many single mom’s teach their children to love and respect their father. And how many trash him? And if one single mother responds and says “I don’t that” I am just going to request don’t. Not all single moms are like that. Just most trash the father imho.
Feminism. hahaha. rofl. Exactly how confused do you think a young man is today? Does he hold the door open for a woman? Does he treat a woman like she is weaker and needs protection? Nah, I doubt it. He has been told his whole life women are either just as capable (firefighter, policeman)or even more capable (teacher, nurse and so on).

Biologically women want the Alpha Male who can gain the most resources. Men want the woman with the best eggs. Or a few of ‘em. Nothing new under the sun.
