Democrats are up in arms over the Republican-controlled Senate Judiciary Committees handling of the confirmation vote for Loretta Lynch, who was nominated by President Obama to replace outgoing U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder. Supporters accuse Republicans of slow-walking the vote, Politico reports:
Their newest evidence: the Senate Judiciary Committees decision Thursday to postpone voting on Lynch until after next weeks recess which means she wont get a final floor vote until March, at least five weeks after her confirmation hearing.

Lynchs confirmation hearing began in late-January. By contrast, the Republican-controlled Senate moved quickly to take up the nomination of Ashton Carter for defense secretary, the news outlet notes. On Feb. 4, Carter appeared before the Senate Armed Services Committee and was confirmed Thursday. Politico writes:
Theres so many similarities between the Lynch nomination and the Carter nomination, said Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), one of Lynchs biggest boosters. And to move Carter so quickly and to slow down Lynch is very troublesome, and I think they ought to move her ASAP.
The delay may have a lot to do with timing.
Senate Democrats agreed to postpone her confirmation into the new Republican-led chamber at the GOPs request. Democrats meant it as a gesture of goodwill, and they also believed Lynch would be confirmed in either a Democratic- or GOP-controlled Senate.
While some key Republicans initially signaled support for Lynch, others appear to be uncertain. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), a frequent critic of Holder, has expressed the strongest opposition. The site says:

No one who testified that Obama is within the Constitution in issuing his executive decrees, making laws out of whole cloth, should be appointed as Attorney General. To approve her is to approve his breaking of the law.
Um... effem.
Note to DemWits: To paraphrase Dear Leader... “elections matter... you lost”.
“those are our planes”....
They need to get her confirmed before even more crap surfaces about her suspect background.

“outraged”
That fake rage could make a murder of crows blush.
I’ll repeat something Senator Jeff Sessions would stand tall on, but no stalwart Republican Uniparty member will admit:
Reid & Co. killed debate and rammed through the nominees it wanted with a simple majority vote.
The post-election shine is still on them, but the GOP-e leadership are like Union generals before Ulysses Grant:
They. Won’t. Fight.
What good are they?
They are no good. They are useless.
Dems are outraged? Oh, no! Say it isn’t so! Whatever shall we do?
Effectively run out the clock by voting as the 2016 election cycle is getting hot. She’s just a Holder clone with fresh legs; need to minimize the time for her to do even more damage to the country.
Of course, RINOs on the Senate committee and in the GOPe caucus will confirm her appointment. “Don’t count your Hatch before he chickens.”
A gesture of “goodwill” by the democrats....
I guess the repubs just didn’t realize it...
it’s been so long.
Obama’s “open hand” always turned out to clenched
tight into a fist.
To democrats everywhere....get some, get some of
what you used to shovel out.
they are always outraged and offended and it is pure theatrics
We are in a death fight with these people and until someone comes to the realization this is not combat politics with the dems, we are going to get gored just as surely as those Christians did in the coliseum.
This thing should have been rejected. It’s holder with one more victim status attribute.
I guess they never delayed confirmation votes before?? lol.
Anyone remember a guy named Estrada or something from the Bush admin?
Dems are outraged when the copyboy is 10 seconds late with their latte. Big deal.
And I’m outraged that Dems are using up oxygen.
