In the absence of Captain Connie, as the Exec I'll grant you permission to come aboard. Returning your salute.

Now do I also salute the flag? I'm Army, so I'm culturally deprived.

ROCKUMENTARY: FEBRUARY 14, 1983

I had gone from management into internal consulting, which meant I was the financial systems guru for the bank.

So what were you up to?

Cue the Rockumentary theme!

San Remo Golden Strings: “Festival Time”

#10 – Phil Collins: “You Can’t Hurry Love”

This was the Supremes’ old hit from 1966, and the video offers Collins singing all three Supremes roles. It’s good for a chuckle.

Hey, the Navy has totally different customs! I’m only learning them 40+ years after getting out of the Army.

Thanks very much, Maestro! You are not required to salute the Flag upon my boarding, but you may certainly do so any time you see fit.

"I am an American fighting man. I serve in the forces which guard my country and our way of life.
I am prepared to give my life in their defense."

So upon boarding a naval vessel, the protocol is:

BOARDING OFFICER: Salutes the flag, salutes the Officer of the Deck, requests permission to board.

OFFICER OF THE DECK: Returns salute and gives permission.

Do I have it all?
