Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber submitted his resignation Friday.
He met with his senior staff and administration officials before the official announcement, sources with direct knowledge told KOIN 6 News.
The resignation will take effect as of 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015. Oregon Secretary of State Kate Brown will become the next governor.

Is this the tool who used to wear jeans and cowboy boots with a tie and jacket? I seem to remember him when I lived in OR back in the ‘80’s. Sounds like a fitting and disgraceful end to a man who didn’t have the pride and dignity to be a Conservative Republican as all Americans should be.
This liberal democrat complained in the resignation letter that he had been tried and convicted without a jury or a trial.
Essentially, he says he got the same treatment Zimmerman and Darren Wilson got. But, its apparently unfair when a democrat gets that treatment.
What do we know about Kate Brown ? Is she any improvement at all?
WTF is wrong with Oregon? On a national level this guy would be considered a Democrat hero. A definite contender for the BJ Clinton Governor of the Year award, no?

All of the Oregon Dims are corrupt. Merkley, Widen and the whole bunch have been ripping off the tax payer for the last 10 years.

Democrat - Sheldon Silver, Gov. Andrew Cuomo (most likely), PA Treasurer and AG, Gov. Kitzhaber...and I'm sure I'm forgetting someone else, but a pretty "impressive" list there.
GOP - Gov. Christie (maybe), some NY House Rep. (who may not actually have done anything wrong, but he still threw in the towel), maybe another one. Not perfect, certainly, but more maybes and not as many verified criminals in general.
I'd say the Dems are starting off the year in fine fashion.
