BBC News ^ | 11 February 2015

A day of bloodshed on Kiev's main square, nearly a year ago, marked the end of a winter of protest against the government of president Viktor Yanukovych, who soon afterwards fled the country. More than 50 protesters and three policemen died. But how did the shooting begin? Protest organisers have always denied any involvement - but one man told the BBC a different story.

Be prepared to be called a "Putinista" for daring to question the absolute one-sided narrative that the crisis in Ukraine has received in the Western media.

Putin’s heavy involvement is beyond question. Nothing is done a vacuum, but neither is Putin going to be used as a pawn. Putin is Soviet, and I give no damns that that word is out of favor. He wants the Ukraine back, and what is going on - under his watch and mobilized from within his country - just so happens to be the most favored method by which such things were obtained by the USSR of which he was an executive officer in the KGB. What a coincidence.

1 + 1

Do the math.

Oh well, if the NY Times researched the matter, it will be rejected by those taking the Putin side to begin with.

Nah, you’re just a putinista if you parrot the Russian media.

Propaganda is not a legitimate ‘side of the narrative’.

Police started shooting protesters a month earlier before the Maiden massacre. Stupid article does not address the fact that 3 unarmed protesters were shot dead by the police a month earlier on Jan 22, 2014 before any allegations in this article. On the same day, a dead body of another Euromaidan activist was found on the outskirts of the city; he was kidnapped the day before. 5 More protesters were killed between 25 January and 13 February.
