There’s Nothing Shameful about Walker’s Being a College ‘Dropout’
National Review Online ^ | February 12, 2015 | Charles C. W. Cooke

Posted on 02/12/2015 11:39:56 AM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

Were he to become president,” Howard Dean jeered this morning on MSNBC,Wisconsin’s Scott Walker “would be the first president in many generations that did not have a college degree.” This, Dean concluded was a disgrace. “He’s never finished,”he spluttered, and “the issue here is not just an issue of dancing around the question of evolution for political reasons, the issue is how well educated is this guy? And that’s a problem.”

Thus was one of the most successful politicians of recent years condemned for lack of a certificate......

......Sorry, Mr. Walker, you have the wrong colored dot on your forehead to run for higher office....

....This being a democratic republic,it is dangerous in and of itself for our elites to condemn as unsuitable for office those they consider to be “less educated” than themselves. But it is downright repugnant to watch certain members of the journalistic class meditating on the question of whether a man who has been infinitely more successful than themselves should be deemed ineligible for want of their preferred credentials. It is difficult, too, not to divine a touch of caste-system snobbery in the initial inquiry. As higher education becomes increasingly fetishized, those who do not possess the right letters after their names will be increasingly in danger of marginalization-even, it should be said, when they are successful and happy and full of self-assurance. If Scott Walker is the nominee, there is no doubt his detractors will play as subtly but as brutally as they can on his being a “dropout,” nor that the professional class that determines the shape of the debates will mutter in irritation that he is not one of them. If he has any sense about him,he will refuse to entertain the premise. “Sure I didn’t finish college,” he will say. “But look where I am now. This is America, goddamnit.”

Peter Jennings was a high school dropout, but he had connections through his dad as I recall.

We have never seen Obama’s degrees, much less his grades.

Any concrete evidence that the graduated from any school?

His whole presidency, family line and citizenship are enigmas.

By the way, Bill Gates never finished college, either.

I think Americans have to seriously look at electing a President who wants to build a better America for the embattled American middle class, not a President who want’s to build a “better utopia” America on the backs of the American middle class.

So far there are only three real options

Gov Scott Walker
Sen Ted Cruz
Gov Sarah Palin.

Wish there were more.

President G. W. Bush had a degree from Harvard and the MSM continuously ridiculed him and called him stupid.

Bush also had a degree from Yale. Bush is one of our smarter presidents. He had loads of commonsense which rules over a college education for real life application.

I ridicule Ivy leagued educated liberals and call them stupid because they are. I don't give a whit about someone's resume in education. There are too many college educated idiots running around to make a case that a degree is a must have.

Even without a college degree Walker was able to serve as Governer more effectively and intelligently than Dean ever did.

Brian Williams only completed just 18 credits worth of college before dropping out to intern for the Jimmy Carter administration.

Just think how bad it would be now if the Azz-wipe in Chief wasn't as well educated as he's supposed to be.

Do I need it...? /s

No, Brillo.

The slobbering left wing had no problem electing a president whose resume was essentially blank.

I remember that. But not his connections. In most colleges journalism is a minor; you need another subject to major in. I submit its an absorption and practice of Alinsky tactics is the prerequisite. Journalism class is where I was required to read Rules for Radicals in the 70s.

There certainly is truth in that. But then you need to get out into the real world (or go back to the real world). So many academic elites live their lives in a bubble.

Walker has been successful. The Left will not tolerate that.

I demand another elite university graduate as president.

I nominate Jonathan Gruber.

It is worse than that. If you do have a degree from a state school they will deride you for not going to an Ivy League school.

I don’t care whether Walker has a degree, I do care if he is effective, which is not in question at this point.

A Harvard degree is no guarantee of effectiveness.

How many millions have college degrees that certify nothing more than they took up space for 4+ years, credentialed - not educated?
