NBC Universal tried to save Brian Williams’ job last night—and that’s why he was suspended for six months.
The company finally had to stop the bleeding, to halt the hemorrhaging of its own credibility along with that of its franchise player.
The brass slowly came to realize that Williams had to be punished, and significantly, for the sin of fabricating a story about his 2003 trip to Iraq. The betting is that with Lester Holt handling “Nightly News” for six months, things will cool off—the country will have moved on to some other outrage—and Williams will be able to return to the chair.

This is like White Star Lines moving Titanic’s launch back six months.
Or perhaps it is a secretly planned opportunity for Williams to do some research for the coming political season. It’s hard to come up with fresh lies about the conservative candidates - so they are prepping their expert liar.
I’ll not be surprised if he comes off his “suspension” with a fresh dossier of dirt on the good guys.
This isn’t specifically directed at Howard Kurtz, but some of this angst we’re seeing from Williams’ colleagues in media is amazing. It’s like a girlfriend catching the boyfriend cheating and then has a “Slap him - Kiss him” episode where criticism and praise alternately take turns.
6 months is an appropriate punishment? His career of blabbidy blab years over shadows this lie? Yet, this ‘lie’ went on for 10-12 years - continually it seems. This single little lie doesn’t warrant firing we are told by his ‘colleagues’ and not to ‘pile on’ with jokes and photoshopping.
These colleagues are spending so much time explaining away the big lie, they are completely ignoring all the others in the hopes those spaghetti strings don’t stick to the ceiling..

My bet is that they just spend six months talking about Chris Christie and the closing of some entrance ramps to the George Washington Bridge (despite the fact that there is no connection between Christie himself and the closing). That seems to be the “go-to” story here when Dems/libs misbehave.
Is everyone forgetting that this commie pinko fag was pushing his own agenda and that included making Bush look as bad as possible.

Why not contract "The Onion" to take over NBC News?
I have to disagree. He’s become a meme now, and a viral one. His credibility is a joke. He’s done and even if he did come back, the onslaught from social media would be so brutal he’d never stay long.

Brian Williams has always given me the creeps from day one, where he always came off as phony and uncomfortably uptight, is that even his real speaking voice?
