The same method my dad used with picky dogs - keep giving them the same stuff until they are hungry enough to eat it. Self-imposed food strikes ended pretty quickly. He didn't use that method on us kids though.

Couldn't really blame the dogs. Some of the cheap dog food that Dad would buy had to be the by-products of the by-products process. Every dog he ever had was active, healthy, and lived a very long life despite the less than appealing food.
