Buchanan Criticizes Israelis, Boehner For Netanyahu Invite | by Ian Hanchett | 31 Jan 2015

Columnist Pat Buchanan argued that the declining relationship between the US and Israel was due in part to House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) inviting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to speak before Congress on Friday's "McLaughlin Group."

Buchanan argued there was a "deteriorating relationship of the United States and its partner Israel over a number of issues, including this Boehner invitation to Bibi Netanyahu to come to the Congress of the United States, where Obama spoke and trash America's policy on Iran. It has split this city and it has created a real firestorm...I think the US-Israeli relationship is at hard as a point as it's been since 1956 when Ike ordered the Israeli Army out of Sinai."

He continued "I would fault both the Israelis and I would fault Mr. Boehner as well. You do not -- a foreign leader, you do not bring him into the chamber of the Congress and Senate to trash the foreign policy of the United States of America."

Hey Pat,

Does Obama have the “right” to openly aid the leftist candidates in Israel?

But Boehner did not follow normal protocol ...

Only Republicans are to play by the rules.

>>”It’s a mistake to come over here and Boehner to give him time to criticize the foreign policy of the president of the U.S. in the same forum as the State of the Union,” Buchanan said.

When that president is the enemy of the people (even the short-sighted stupid people who voted for him) and the Constitution, almost anything is appropriate.

Buchanan is only upset that Kissinger still gets the A list Treatment.
He hasn’t been relevant since Nixon.

Buchanan has been insignificant for a long time. He obviously has no idea as to what the Constitution allows the legislative branch to do without “permission” of the executive branch. For all of boner’s many faults, on this one small matter he has it right. That said, he and the rest of the GOPe can ESAD.

Just when Pat seems to have returned to our Planet, his anti-semite side spins him back into deep space.
You want to know why our friends in Israel don’t trust Conservatives?
Pat is one of the reasons.

Fortunately people like Jimmy Carter and Pat Buchanan are few and dying off.

Don’t senators and congressmen routinely participate in international fact finding junkets, including several to Israel, supposedly to gather information relevant to their legislative duties? Why not save the taxpayers a boatload of money and have Bibi come here to speak to them all at once?

Gee, Pat. Does Obama also merit ant criticism? Or is Obama an innocent bystander, just trying to go about his business and make an appeasers’ deal with Iran that will accommodate its nuclear weapons program and put Israel and the US in peril? How dare Boehner and Netanyahu do anything to interfere!

Didn’t follow “protocol”? The Commander in Chief does not follow the LAW. Look, when the power’s out, and the looters are out, niceties like protocol lose some of their authority.

Reid dropped a centuries old “protocol” rule to get nominees through.

As protocols are not a moral code, there is not only nothing wrong with dispensing with them, it may be imperative. Undermining Obama’s authority is an iperative. You cam bet that when he leaves the White House, he will continue to try to subvert the U.S. in any way that does not tax anything other than his mouth and throat muscles.

Shoot the messenger if you must, but Buchanan is right that it is wrong to bring a foreign leader to the capital for the express purpose of trashing US policy, even if it is Obama’s. This is simply wrong. It borders, in my opinion, on sedition and treason—where is Boehner’s loyalties? Israel or the US?

Obama has created an issue where there was no issue. His public tantrum is his own doing.

The deterioration of the relationship between the US and Israel owes to the fact that we elected Muslim Brotherhood into the White House.

With a normal president, even a normal Democrat president there would be no issue because no normal American would object to a visit by an Israeli prime minister. Only this president throws a public fit... and it is public because he can’t help himself, he can’t control himself. He has made it plain again and again that he detests Netanyahu, has gone out of his way to humiliate him, and now insists that his allies in congress go along with yet another attempt at public humiliation.

All, while he dispatches a team to get Netanyahu voted out of office.

Buchanan is past disappointing me, I figured him out long ago. Today he just reconfirms what I already know. In a contest between the barbarian and the civilized man, if the civilized man is Jewish he will find some way to stand with the barbarian. Despite the fact that Israel’s enemies are slaughtering Christians right now, he can’t bring himself to back Israel.

Not a fan, at all, of Mister Boehner.

However, I'm even less so of the (is there a nice word for seemingly sometimes somewhat psycho?) Mister Buchanan.
