Jeb ‘Put Me Through Hell’ (Michael Schiavo)
Politico ^ | January 29, 2015 | Michael Kruse

Posted on 01/31/2015 3:01:48 PM PST by EveningStar

CLEARWATER, Fla.—Sitting recently on his brick back patio here, Michael Schiavo called Jeb Bush a vindictive, untrustworthy coward.

For years, the self-described “average Joe” felt harassed, targeted and tormented by the most important person in the state.

“It was a living hell,” he said, “and I blame him.”

Michael Schiavo was the husband of Terri Schiavo, the brain-dead woman from the Tampa Bay area who ended up at the center of one of the most contentious, drawn-out conflicts in the history of America’s culture wars. The fight over her death lasted almost a decade. It started as a private legal back-and-forth between her husband and her parents. Before it ended, it moved from circuit courts to district courts to state courts to federal courts, to the U.S. Supreme Court, from the state legislature in Tallahassee to Congress in Washington. The president got involved. So did the pope.

But it never would have become what it became if not for the dogged intervention of the governor of Florida at the time ...

Interesting, I never heard the Church of Scientology angle to the horror show.

The Church of Scientology is the key to understanding the Schaivo murder. Leadership was in complete control of every aspect. The cult is firmly committed to the euthanasia of those it deems worthless. This was a perfect case for them. It allowed their morality to take center stage. This was not simply a matter of allowing someone to die. This was the deliberate starvation of a worthless human being, something they long have been committed to.

And why aren’t you furious that The Church of Scientology did nothing to change things?

Woofie is campaigning for Jeb on the platform of Jeb having washed his hands while declaring himself innocent of the blood of Terri Schiavo.
>>>>>>>>>>>>

BS..... you flunk

Have you ever tried to do something and failed?

If not, tell me how you have managed to get through life?....

In the arena of the law and politics failure happens all the time

Now answer me this :
The article says the husband is mad at Jeb for doing “too much”
What was the too much that Jeb Bush is accused of doing?

Did he try too hard to Kill the woman?

Did he sit on his hands and do “too much” of nothing?
That is the accusation ...... and an objective view of all this says BS,

He tried to do something.
Or do you want to try to tell me he did nothing?

And I shouldn’t have to say it but its obvious some of you can’t think your way out of a tin can....”I would be happier if Jeb Bush withdrew today”

so this has nothing to do with whether I like him or not

You guys sound like you have Stockholm Syndrome or something

I am furious that the church of Scientology accomplished exactly what it intended, the death of Terry Schaivo.

I had no idea they were involved but I did not follow this all that much

Do you think Jeb Bush worked against pro life positions or for it?

I think the criticism of Jeb has some merit. He was not willing to go to the mat for his beliefs. In the final analysis he deferred to the FSC. He need not have done so. This would, however, have meant some action taken against him whether from the court or the legislative branch. He clearly was not willing to take this risk.
The Bush dynasty is deferential to government authority. That is the source of their power and they will not risk standing on principle if it means being in conflict with the law. They are good bureaucrats with a heart for the country.

Louis you stated your position better than most ....but looking at this from a politician’s point of view, I would say none of them will want to wrestle with any of this in the future if they are to get castigated by all sides

There are a few who are willing to “wrestle” with moral issues, opposition be damned. Cruz and Palin come to mind. There are others.

One does not always get what one prays for. If prayers are unanswered it may not be God’s fault.
What precisely are you observing?
Madness call I it for what else is to describe madness but to be nothing else but mad.

Ok. I had a pang of good thoughts for Jeb when I read the headline. Then I recalled that he abandoned Terri and said nope, not going there.

If Jeb had defied the court order he would have broken the law. He would have been subject to arrest. He would have been impeached and removed from office and been subject to further prosecution. And this would not have helped your cause. The court order would still have been carried out.

Now, although I believed that Terri was braindead, I had no problem with the parents taking over conservatorship if they were willing and financially able to do so (I'm sure there would have been plenty of financial donors willing to help them).

Yes, both Mickey and Jeb Bush are responsible for Terri's horrific murder. Terri is Jeb's Mary Jo. Jeb is a disgusting individual who showed total lack of compassion for Terri and her parents.

Does Mickey want more publicity? Or in a reverse way try to make Jeb more acceptable to the voters? Jeb did not put him through hell - Jeb ended up doing what he wanted. Instead, he and Jeb put Terri and her family through hell.

So Im re reading all the stuff on this case and I can only conclude that something is seriously wrong with you and people who hold positions like your.

All I can think is that the emotion of the whole thing caused you and others to be confused about who the players were and what they did

Please tell us in plain English what it was that Jeb Bush did that makes you think he put Terri and her family through hell
