The Romney Statement: Not Running. "I’ve decided it is best to give other leaders in the Party...."

I’ve been emailed this text of remarks Mitt Romney will be making to his supporters shortly:

Let me begin by letting you know who else is on this call, besides Ann and me. There are a large number of people who signed on to be leaders of our 2016 finance effort. In addition, state political leadership from several of the early primary states are on the line. And here in New York City, and on the phone, are people who have been helping me think through how to build a new team, as well as supporters from the past who have all been kind enough to volunteer their time during this deliberation stage. Welcome, and thank you. Your loyalty and friendship, and your desire to see the country with new, competent and conservative leadership warms my heart.

After putting considerable thought into making another run for president, I’ve decided it is best to give other leaders in the Party the opportunity to become our next nominee.

He’s pro-amnesty...dealbreaker. I don’t think he’s viable with that position he’s on record as.

My friend is a very smart man, but his not knowing about the abortion vote tells me he’s a low-info social conservative voter.

And I’m fairly sure he watches Fox.

So, what do they get on Fox: Jeb, Romney, Rubio, Paul, and Huckabee.

Everyone else is hopeless or a lunatic, and many stories never see the light of day there.

IMO Sarah is not going to run, she’ll back Cruz, essentially unifying the base...Cruz would not pick Walker as a VP (Walker was vocally against Cruz efforts to stop GOP funding all the BS)...he’d pick a Gov like Jindal.

A Cruz/Jindal ticket would be very strong.

I was hoping that if he and his fellow RINO, Jeb Bush both ran, they would split the RINO vote allowing a Conservative to win the nomination.

Christie is still in the mix. Then of course there's Rand Paul and Marco Rubio who will split off their own specific groups from the overall nomination.

Personally I love Ted Cruz, but I think Walker is more viable and has a proven track record in getting the job done over the objections of liberals.

Look up the many statements Walker has made regarding Amnesty.

Walker is essentially for letting the 10s of millions of illegals (criminals) remain in our Republic.

Walker is pro-amnesty which negates ALL other positions. Amnesty will utterly destroy our culture and Republic as founded.

No Conservative should support any candidate that is so weak on protecting our way of life.

I’d like that, very much so... but I don’t see Sarah taking a VP slot realistically, I don’t believe she’d want it. I think she is very happy doing what she is doing, a VP slot wouldn’t offer her more than what she is doing today on her schedule, she’s a major influencer that in VP role would be diminished.

I believe Cruz would be smart to look at someone like Jindal...a strong Southern Gov with major results...and as articulate as Ted himself.

Translation.
I have been told off the establishment that Bush will be the nominee and if I step down I will be given the vice Presidency.

Now if only Jeb Bush would bow out.

Jeb Bush is the reason Mitt bowed out. The RNC higher-ups told him that they don't want Mitt to take away any votes that "belong" to Prince Jeb.

Either that, or Jeb sent Karl Rove with a team of goons to make Mitt an offer that he can't refuse.

I think Cruz is our best and most reliable conservative running. Walker’s looking pretty good too and I believe Perry was well liked in Texas. Looks like Palin’s not going to run. Hope we can narrow it don to the best and most likely conservative real soon and then push like hell.

Absolutely no to Bush, Huckabee, Christie, Paul or Rubio. No amnesty pimps, common core advocates, or light in the loafers cross the aisle type democrat-lites.
