Sheldon Silver
(Is Richard Blum, husband of Diane Feinstein far behind? With his one one billion dollar commission?)
This needs to take Cuomo with it.
The long term political consequence of this debacle will be that ethically challenged Andrew Cuomo will be forever linked to this corruption. He can never satisfactorily explain why he disbanded the corruption commission that was accumulating evidence against insiders close to him. Would like to think it would prevent him from ever getting the Democratic Presidential nomination but in the end Democrats nominate Democrats. Andrew Cuomo if nothing else is a prototypical Democrat.
He’ll take all the money with him when he dies. (Or so he thinks)
This “reporter” cites no facts to back up her muckraking and is likely to get her ass sued off.
This DemoMafiaGate has been going on in Albany since after the Civil War.
Only way to stop it is:
1. to separate NY State from NY City.
2. give NY City to New Jersey where it belongs with the
rest of the stink.
3. Throw the whole Democrat legislature[s] in jail for
collusion, racketeering and conspiracy.
4. Call for new elections in NY State sans NY City election participation
5. Since NY City was once the first capital of the United States, let them become atavistic as DC is now, “Watch but NO VOTES!!”
New York Democrat Corruption - but you repeat yourself.....
I said this on the other thread, NOTHING gets “done” in Gnu Yak without Prince Andrew’s edict...
Pff. Who is going to ask him for an explanation? No one. Least of all members of "the opposition party."
Oh, and with regard to the headline: try "Sheldon Silvers law firm rakes in billions for its clients from judges he controls."
Knowing New York as I do, I think it's a safe bet that she's got plenty of evidence in hand.
Remember that we're talking about the Speaker of the New York State Assembly who is under a Federal indictment for charges that could carry decades in prison terms. Someone in this position would get laughed out of a courtroom if he tried to claim that a newspaper writer has caused him some kind of harm that could be remedied through a lawsuit.
I don't think this dude -- or any of the political hacks who have been part of his racket for years -- are going to be suing anybody.

Yes, and this isn’t his first government payday by a long shot. Take a look at the Mlitary Base Closings in Sacramento.
She’s impugning a bunch of judges too, don’t forget. She better have back up in her files.
If a statement of a set of facts impugns a judge, then the judge in question has put himself (or herself) in a position where their professional conduct deserves a lot of scrutiny. And when a Federal indictment is involved, there sure as hell ought to be a lot of scrutiny.
Not to mention the fact that judge’s, as public officials, would have to prove not only that the allegations are false but that the reporter published them with knowledge of the falsehood, actual malice and/or a reckless disregard for the truth. And the burden would be on the judges, not the reporter.
New York gets the government they deserve.
The writer, Susan Edelman , is not writing for her blog. She is writing for the NY Post owned by Rupert Murdoch. I am sure the Post lawyers vetted this. But the post is taking on a lot of judges and a corrupt judicial system. Hopefully the prosecutor Preet Bahara will give or leak material to the Post
She better be able to put her money where her big mouth is, if all this is a scheme, these folks are all going to the big house.
