The vast majority of Muslims in Kenya follow the Sunni Islam of Shafi school of jurisprudence and 99% of Indonesian Muslims are Sunni, also of the Shafi school.
Obama is a non-practicing Sunni Muslim, but is sympathetic to all forms of Islam over everything else.

Seriously, though, the Sunni threat is purely religious, fragmented, and far more fanatical. The Shite threat is nationalist, coalesced, and far more sophisticated.
I'm not sure whether he is a Communist fronting off as a Moo to keep the long-running Soviet-Arab-Nationalist gig going (the Sovs were sponsors of both Syria's and Iraq's Ba'athists, and the Nasserites of Egypt, including Anwar Sadat, until the CIA showed him what the KGB had in store for him and Egypt as a fully-digested Soviet satellite), or whether he is a Islamo-America-Hater who plays to the Sovs and American Communists because that's his educational background, and because in the wider world, Arabs and Soviets played footsie all over the world (just like some Arabs did with the Nazis before that).
I think the last time I joined in with FReepers considering that thesis divergence, I was with the people who said, no, the Moslem thing is a put-on, he's really a Communist (and probably atheist-instrumentalist).

I do believe his demonstrations re Islam are tactical and strategic, but not core. He doesn't really "live there".
