The White House has released a couple of excerpts of the president's address to the nation. Here's the second:
“But I want the American people to understand how this effort will be different from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. It will not involve American combat troops fighting on foreign soil. This counter-terrorism campaign will be waged through a steady, relentless effort to take out ISIL wherever they exist using our air power and our support for partner forces on the ground. This strategy of taking out terrorists who threaten us, while supporting partners on the front lines, is one that we have successfully pursued in Yemen and Somalia for years.”

White House Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett explained in an interview with MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell that she didn’t want to break news on any White House plans to safeguard the individuals within the embassy.
“Well I don’t want to get ahead of ourselves,” she said this afternoon. “What I can tell you obviously is that we are in close touch with the embassy. Keeping our folks safe who are representing the United States around the world is a top priority and I have no more news to announce on that right now.”
So why are so many Yemenis and Somalis coming here?
If anybody is still in the embassy today they may be burnt toast by tonight.
Barry wants to import all that success so we can all enjoy it.

No way, Obama said this was a symbol of our success in the middle east. This is obviously a trumped up story by FOX news. I think his excellency should head right over there and have a press conference, in fact, he can do his state of the union show right from Sanaa disputing this eroneous story.
If he takes my advice, I think everyone on the tarmac at the time of his departure would say: goodbye troubles.
