“The 1st Aviation Brigade is responsible for training Aviation officers, warrant officers, and Soldiers with a variety of Aviation military occupational specialties. The Golden Hawks Brigade Headquarters and most subordinate units are stationed at the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence, Fort Rucker. The 1st Aviation Brigade commands three distinctly different battalions, each with a unique mission to train young Soldiers and officers - the 1st Battalion, 13th Aviation Regiment; the 1st Battalion, 145th Aviation Regiment; and 2nd Battalion, 13th Aviation Regiment at Fort Huachuca, Ariz.
Along with its many command responsibilities, logistical support requirements, and administrative duties, the Brigade’s primary mission is to train and develop future Army Aviation leaders. Instructors and cadre write, review, and develop the courses critical to initial military training as well as professional military education. The cadre are some the most competent and experienced officers, warrant officers, NCOs and civilians. They bring relevant combat experience together with current Army doctrine, lessons learned and a focus on air-ground operations to provide world-class instruction in a learning environment that is Above the Best.
Tactical training is further reinforced with state-of-the art simulations, allowing students to assume various command and staff positions at all command levels while fighting simulated battles throughout a wide spectrum of tactical scenarios.
Lastly, the Brigade conducts a variety of training support, administrative, and garrison support missions as part of USAACE team.”
Several videos out today of armed Americans and Brits in Mariupol.
Likely from one of the Merc Battalions, like AZOV or Kolomoiski’s bunch.
I wonder what patch was on his left shoulder.
ridiculous. The patch can be procured anywhere. There’s no way that unit would be in open street combat.
Historians in the future (if there is a future) will have many theories about when this war started.
Was it formenting the removal of leaders in Libya, Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Syria, Kiev, Yemen etc, none of whom had attacked the US or our allies? Was it allowing, probably arming, training and financing ISIS then allowing them to take over huge parts of Iraq? Was it sanctions against Russia? (economic warfare) Was it indiscriminate "droning" of populations that got in the way of targets?
I don't know. But I have a really valid opinion about DeflateGate.
Disgusted Beyond Words.
Interesting point about WW3 because as I see the prophecies of the end time, there is no declared war. No one nation stands up against the anti-Messiah but there is a 200 million man army that goes about the world killing those who refuse to bow in submission. Door to door, not national battle lines.
Nasty business that war
IRA Provos now have something to do!
Patch on right shoulder sleeve is previous. Left shoulder sleeve patch is current assignment.
Bogus. The 1st Aviation Brigade is a training unit based at the Army Aviation School at Ft. Rucker, Al. It is not a combat unit, and most definitively not an Infantry unit. The last time that unit saw combat was in Vietnam. At least that was the state of affairs when I retired from Army Aviation ten years ago.
I’m long out of the Army, when was the last time that they used olive drab shirts, or field jackets, or whatever piece of clothing that was, the 1980s?
My guess is: Army surplus field jacket. Plain OD Green has not been official uniform since around 1985. But there are plenty out there. I have 2 or 3 around the house myself, and a couple of BDU camo field jackets.
I’ve been out of the Army for about 42 years. I think you’re right about olive drab.
You’re right.
