Is this real?
And Bergdahl returns home to a zer0bama hero’s welcome!
When an incident like this occurs...it is in the best interests of all involved tomsit down with the Intelligence and Aviation section and gather reports, witness statements, and enemy TTPs ....because under any insurgent action...these incidents get clouded with politics and one must be prepared to defend his actions in the near or far future.
This is how the enemy wins...with division and confusion with a strong dose of politics!
I hope the next president has somebody examine all the military firings and prosecutions to see if they are valid. Then, the president should use executive power or pardons to set any of them that are invalid right again.
I pray that President Cruz will pardon this man on Inauguration Day.
"No charges were brought against his men, who not only opened fire against the Afghans, but who also testified against him. "
Having experienced and survived this administration's suicidal RoE,
Anything withheld by this government during this trial (& appeals) could and would have been withheld had each of these testifying subordinates been charged as well.
Reading through this I am of the firm conclusion the pilot of AF1 has to take one for the team.
The only way to bring Obama into this is give him a month in uniform as an infantryman in a squad on patrol in AFGHANISTAN. (as the point man of course) LTC West knows the situation 1st hand, too bad the Perfumed Princes ignore it. I’d love to put Obama in a closed room with LTC West, I’m sure the real Leader will prevail.
Obama wants to withdraw from Afghanistan and return authority to the “right people”. He only stayed to get reelected and after withdrawing from Iraq first. Now that been accomplished it’s time to pull out of Afghanistan. The rules of engagement were designed so Americans could neither fight aggressively against the enemy nor defend themselves against attack. The purpose of doing this is very obvious: first by increasing causalities it will decrease America’s desire of using it’s military. Second by having rules of engagement where every time you fire your weapon opens you up for prosecution also helps with the left and the media’s template the American serviceman is a war criminal murdering innocent third world poor people of color look how many soldiers have been convicted of war crimes! Third the American military is humiliated and the Muslims encouraged that they can stand up to a world power and defeat them in the field. Fourth if the infidel dares to defend himself against Muslims then he is receiving just punishment for he has no right to do anything but submit to Islam once war has been declared. The rules of engagement have been written by radical left wing lawyers and the Muslim brotherhood so government policy is being set by those who want to destroy our Republic.
The only ROE we need is kill them all, period.
If true, this is appalling. My son was there and could go back. However, the story as written seems very incomplete.
Good luck with that. Not this president, a Moslem whose sympathies are entirely with his dead coreligionists for whom he is duty bound to seek vengeance.
"The ANA (Afghan National Army) started telling them to go back, waving to them to return towards the motorcycle, to stay away," Skelton testified. "They turned around and went back towards the motorcycle."
This last statement conflicts with the narrative offered in the LT's defense...his own troops were essentially calling the Lt. a liar. Or are they lying for some reason?
The soldiers of his squad said that he had tormented the Afghans and had made death threats against them.
I'm curious about this...were these threats against the 3 on the motorcycle or in general? I suspect the 3 and if so, then his orders to stop, the initial volley of fire and the subsequent shooting of the 2 could be argued to be "death threats"...essentially, "If you don't stop that motorcycle, we're gonna fire on you."
Overall a real crappy situation for our troops to find themselves confronted with. This needs to be made right and the Lt. freed.
[Hey self-anointed FR monitor, I chose to use a vulgar word...haven't seen you bothering anyone else lately...better get busy.]
I hope PFC. James Skelton gets what is coming to him, a life of misery.
