Netanyahu-Mossad Split Divides U.S. Congress On Iran Sanctions
The Huff Post ^ | 1/22/15 | Josh Rogin and Eli Lake

The Israeli intelligence agency Mossad has broken ranks with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, telling U.S. officials and lawmakers that a new Iran sanctions bill in the U.S. Congress would tank the Iran nuclear negotiations.

Already, the Barack Obama administration and some leading Republican senators are using the Israeli internal disagreement to undermine support for the bill, authored by Republican Mark Kirk and Democrat Robert Menendez, which would enact new sanctions if current negotiations falter.

Bob Corker, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee -- supported by Republican Senators Lindsay Graham and John McCain -- is pushing for his own legislation on the Iran nuclear deal, which doesn't contain sanctions but would require that the Senate vote on any pact that is agreed upon in Geneva.

The timing here seems odd. With Iran helping against ISIS - has there been some backroom back channel negotiating here? My mind is ticking..

Could be dis-information, smoke-screens.

Two things may be at work here, One, the Israeli election and Two, possible IDF moves in process.

Deceptions are a part of strategy. Anyone who thinks there is a real split between the Prime Minister and Mossad never heard of the good cop/bad cop routine and how effective it is in obtaining information. Israel absolutely needs the narcissistic twits of the Obama administration to talk to friendly Mossad agents who seem to validate them to know Obama’s real intentions.

Says WHO? Smells fishy to me.

By the way, even IF TRUE (which I question), the answer is that Mossad doesn't set policy. Does Obama allow CIA to dictate policy?

There is a scarier possibility. That the treason by Obama and his Islamofascist agent Jarrett goes far deeper than we even suspect.

The fact is Mossad has a prime responsibility to know the real intent and actions of the vile Obama administration regarding Iran. The stakes are immense for Israel. If medieval, apocalyptic talking lunatic mullahs obtain nuclear weapons, it will be an unmitigated disaster for Israel.

SoFloFreeper :" Says WHO? Smells fishy to me."

It's the Huffington (Fluffington) Post which is like MSNBC in media .
The same organization that organized and publicized the 176 Ferguson protests across the nation.
The dis-information which they offer might just as well have come from the White House itself.

"The timing here seems odd"

This is the second go round on this. The first time began in Dec 13, but Reid wouldn't allow it(Menendez-Kirk) onto the floor of the Senate.

It has come up again now because Reid has been replaced by McConnell and as the article points out, McConnell has already said he would let Kirk-Menendez onto the floor of the senate. OTOH, as the article points out, McConnell has said nothing about allowing Corker's bill onto the senate floor.

In 2013-2014, the NeoCon Republicans(led by Kirk) and the Liberal Interventionist democrats(led by Menendez) supported the bill. But the Realists(led by Corker and Feinstein) opposed. The isolationists(led by Rand Paul) also opposed. The anti-war dems also opposed. AIPAC supported but J Street opposed.

Last year, because Menendez was chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, the bill came out of that committee and it had 58 co-signers, and it probably had enough votes for cloture.

But Reid blocked it so the discussion shifted to an amendment to soften the language but the discussion got rancorous and eventually AIPAC backed away so it died.

Now, this year, Corker is chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and is still opposed to Kirk-Menendez so he won't let it out of his committee, instead he is promoting his own legislation. So, now that Kirk is chairman of his committee, Menendez-Kirk has become Kirk-Menendez and is coming out of Kirk's committee.

And to make it more complicated, last year McCain and Graham(NeoCons) supported Kirk and Menendez but this year are supporting Corker.

So what happens is up to McConnell and whether or not he lets Corker's bill onto the floor. Plus, McConnell has to determine which of the two has the best chance of gaining 67 votes to override Obama's veto and Obama has said he will veto either/both of them.

This story is dis information! Don't believe Bloomberg or Huffpo. Here is the real story: Despite Democrats' claim, Mossad Chief Favors Additional Iran Sanctions.

...following the American report that alleged that Mossad Head Tamir Pardo had warned US senators against further Iran sanctions, in contradiction of Israel's official stance. "The fraudulent claims against the Mossad Head were raised by the Americans yesterday, despite a message that had been transmitted to them on Tuesday by Intelligence Minister [Yuval] Steintz," the senior Israeli source told Channel 2 news. He added that Israel had gone over the minutes of the meeting between Pardo and the delegation of senators, and that Pardo had not said what was attributed to him. "Leaking the Mossad Head's statements, even if they had not been falsified, is a serious breach of all the rules," the senior source added. "Friends do not behave like this. Information from a secret meeting must not leak out." [ Fury in Israel Over Obama's Mossad 'Lies' ]

Secretary Kerry made this up and spread it with the collusion of the traitorous left in Israel. In reality, the head of the Mossad did not break with the Israeli government.
"Leaking the Mossad Head's statements, even if they had not been falsified, is a serious breach of all the rules,” the senior source added. “Friends do not behave like this. Information from a secret meeting must not leak out.”
