Rand Paul’s Latest Hire: Give Edward Snowden the Nobel Peace Prize
The Washington Free Beacon ^ | January 20, 2015 | Alana Goodman

Posted on 01/21/2015 1:47:00 AM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

UPDATE 3:11 P.M.: Copenhaver has also opposed the Pledge of Allegiance because it was “developed by Francis Bellamy, a socialist” as a way to “sell more issues of [the] magazine Youth’s Companion.”

“The pledge was conceived as a way to promote nationalism in order to sell flags to schools as a premium to solicit subscriptions,” says an image she posted to her Facebook page.

“I posted a picture and story explaining this when I first started my page but this sums it up beautifully,” wrote Copenhaver.

In another post, she wrote, “The pledge of allegiance and the ‘roman salute’ was created by Francis Bellamy, a christian socialist, to promote socialism” and posted an image that said the pledge was “adopted later by the National Socialist German Workers Party (Nazis).”

She also criticized drones as “Devastating U.S. War Crimes” and promoted the anti-Israel group Breaking the Silence.

A blogger who has been hired to do social media work for Sen. Rand Paul’s (R., Ky.) likely presidential campaign is not a fan of “stupid armchair jingoes” in the Republican Party, says Sen. John McCain (R., Ariz.) “will use anything to satisfy his blood lust,” and wants Edward Snowden to receive a Nobel Peace prize, according to her Facebook page.

Marianne Copenhaver, also known as “Libertarian Girl,” joined Paul’s team a few months ago to do contract work, the Daily Beast has reported.

Copenhaver’s recent Facebook posts are filled with vehement attacks on the GOP’s foreign policy on Iran, Russia, the Islamic State, Syria, and Israel.

“Nothing makes me rage harder than the GOP trying to start another [expletive] war. Listen up you stupid armchair jingoes, we (libertarians, constitutional conservatives, and anti-war dems) want nothing to do with your [expletive] special interest fueled wars,” wrote Copenhaver in November 2013.

“And to those who listen to the Iran fear mongering on the news and from politicians, just because it’s 2013 does not mean that propaganda doesn’t happen anymore. So keep your drones, and your blind nationalism the rest of the civilized population is done with it.”

Copenhaver added: “Side note: A big [expletive] you to Lindsey Graham and John McCain.”

Copenhaver got into an argument in December 2013 with another Facebook user who told her, “I stand with Israel.”

“Then go over there to Israel and fight,” replied Copenhaver. “You don’t get to use the lives of other people because of your irrational allegiance to them.”

She also weighed in on the Malaysian airline plane shot down by Russian separatists last year, writing that McCain wanted to use it as a pretext for war because he “will use anything to satisfy his blood lust.”

“Even *if* this Malaysian Airliner was shot down in the eastern part of Ukraine and there were Americans on board, that’s NOT an act of war on the US. Senator McCain said there would be ‘hell to pay’ if the plane was shot down by the Russian military or separatists,” wrote Copenhaver. “He will use anything to satisfy his blood lust. The key words here are ‘Ukraine’ and ‘Malaysian.’”

She also expressed strong support for NSA leaker Edward Snowden last January.

“Edward Snowden deserves a Nobel Peace Prize NOT President Obama,” wrote Copenhaver.

The blogger went on to defend Vladimir Putin’s refusal to extradite Snowden to the United States, calling America a “bully.”

“This is what happens when the American government runs around acting like it can control other countries, it’s own citizens, and keeping it’s nose in everyone’s business,” she wrote. “No one wants to play nice with the bully.”

Last March, Copenhaver criticized Sen. Paul’s public call for Russian sanctions after the Crimea invasion. But she also agreed with another Facebook user who wrote that Paul was just “play[ing] the game” and did not genuinely support these sanctions.

“I know and I understand that,” wrote Copenhaver. “It just always hurts to hear him say these things when he knows damn well they’re wrong.”

In addition to blogging and Facebook commentary, Copenhaver also co-hosted a short-lived YouTube show called “Beauty & the Bow Tie” with Jeffrey Tucker, a libertarian pundit who has been accused of writing some of the racist portions of Ron Paul’s infamous newsletters.

Paul’s team said Copenhaver was hired to do part-time social media and graphic design work for the senator’s political action committee, RandPAC, and had no involvement in policy or writing. She traveled with Paul and his staff to Las Vegas last week to test out social media ideas from the road.

Copenhaver did not immediately respond to request for comment.

Well, the picture doesn’t show quite enough. But based on what we CAN see, I say she’s probably not guilty.

Rand proves he's a crank by having someone as vacuous as this speaking for him.

She's and Ron Paul are why Libertarians often repel potential Conservative supporters.

Thanks 2ndDivisionVet. She’s not guilty, but in your guts, you know she’s nuts:

[snip] “I started supporting Rand after I found out about Ron,” she told me. “I did some research, and I found that Rand’s views were very palatable and they gave me hope that even though Ron obviously is not going to be in Congress forever, there were other people like him...” Copenhaver has written extensively about how the elder Paul sparked her interest in politics. In 2013, in an article titled, “How I Broke Through Language Boundaries and Became a Libertarian,” she wrote: “Ron Paul broke through my linguistic boundary and cured my political apathy...It wasn’t until I heard Ron Paul speak that I understood there was an enormous world of beautiful and brilliant minds where I could feel included.” [/snip]

Rand Paul On Shutdown: "Even Though It Appeared I Was Participating In It, It Was A Dumb Idea"
I said throughout the whole battle that shutting down the government was a dumb idea. Even though it did appear as if I was participating in it, I said it was a dumb idea. And the reason I voted for it, though, is that it's a conundrum. Here's the conundrum. We have a $17 trillion debt and people at home tell me you can't give the president a blank check. We just can't keep raising the debt ceiling without conditions. So unconditionally raising the debt ceiling, nobody at home wants me to vote for that and I can't vote for that. But the conundrum is if I don't we do approach these deadlines. So there is an impasse. In 2011, though, we had this impasse and the president did negotiate. We got the sequester. If we were to extend the sequester from discretionary spending to all the entitlements we would actually fix our problem within a few years.

Rand Paul: Time for GOP to soften war stance
...by softening its edge on some volatile social issues and altering its image as the party always seemingly "eager to go to war... We do need to expand the party and grow the party and that does mean that we don't always all agree on every issue" ... the party needs to become more welcoming to individuals who disagree with basic Republican doctrine on emotional social issues such as gay marriage... "We're going to have to be a little hands off on some of these issues ... and get people into the party," Paul said.

Rand Paul's immigration speech
...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.

Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.

Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.

Let's start that conversation by acknowledging we aren't going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.

If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...

This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.

Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.

Rand Paul calls on conservatives to embrace immigration reform
Latinos, should be a natural constituency for the party, Paul argued, but "Republicans have pushed them away with harsh rhetoric over immigration." ...he would create a bipartisan panel to determine how many visas should be granted for workers already in the United States and those who might follow... [and the buried lead] "Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers...

Rand Slams Congress for Funding Egypt's Generals: 'How Does Your Conscience Feel Now?'
Sen. Rand Paul is hammering his fellow senators for keeping billions in financial aid flowing to Egypt's military -- even as Cairo's security forces massacre anti-government activists. [by "anti-government activists" is meant church-burning Christian-murdering jihadists]

He is a Libtardian!

Give a Libtardian a big sack of dope to smoke with his queer boyfriend and he would gladly vote for Karl Marx!
