Clinton's Walmart connection fueling Left's doubts
The Washington Examiner ^ | January 18, 2015 | Sean Higgins

.........For many on the Left, the Arkansas company is emblematic of all that is wrong with corporate America. It is particularly detested by organized labor — a key Democratic constituency — because the company has doggedly fought all efforts to organize its workers.

Clinton's ties to Walmart go back to 1986, when she joined the company's board of directors. She remained there until 1992, when husband Bill Clinton ran for the White House. For years afterwards they both maintained close ties to the retail giant. More recently, Clinton has distanced herself from the company and criticized some of its business practices.

It is a delicate matter that the company and the candidate are both loathe to discuss. A spokesman for Walmart had no comment. A spokesman for the Walton family did not respond to a request for comment. Nor did Ready for Hillary. Don Soderquist, the board's vice chairman during Clinton's tenure, declined to comment. Clinton makes only a single, passing reference to her years in the board in her 2003 memoir, Living History.

Those ties, nevertheless, remain a cause for suspicion of Clinton among liberal activists, many of whom are concerned that her candidacy will keep the Democratic Party from going further in the economically populist, anti-Wall Street direction they think it should.

"It was 20 years ago but it does speak to a closeness Hillary Clinton has to corporate interests on Wall Street and beyond," said a veteran progressive strategist who asked to remain anonymous. "The base of the party is increasingly concerned about our political leaders being too tied, too close, and owing too much to corporate interests, whether those corporate interests are located on Wall Street or in Arkansas."

Numerous liberal organizations have called for a more economically progressive candidate to jump into the race.......

I’m thinking Andrew Cuomo might be the guy to challenge. He’s a two-term governor who made all the “correct” left wing rants about guns, etc.

Yeah, sure....Cuomo has about as much charisma, and presidential presence, as a boiled kale stem.

Tax-exempt Clinton Foundation Accepted $25,000 from Pedophile Pal
By DANIEL HALPER / Jan 8, 2015

EXCERPT On July 18, 2006, the tax-exempt Clinton Foundation received a $25,000 check from the C.O.U.Q. Foundation, whose president was known pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, a friend of Bill Clinton.

The Epstein donation is revealed in the C.O.U.Q. Foundation's 990 tax form, filed with the IRS.

Clinton apparently turned his back on Epstein in 2005 — the year the financier was first arrested for receiving an “erotic massage” from a minor, according to the 2011 court records, related to a suit brought by women who claimed the businessman abused them. Before that, Clinton was a frequent flier on the moneyman’s private jet.

“The documents clearly show that Clinton flew with Epstein and then suddenly stopped, raising the suspicion that the friendship abruptly ended, perhaps because of events related to Epstein’s sexual abuse of children,” the documents state.

Yet this unrestricted donation to the Clinton Foundation is proof that Clinton did not cut all ties after Epstein was accused of pedophilia.

Epstein's proclivities where well known even when the Clinton Foundation accepted his generous gift. "The legal drama began in 2005, when a young woman who gave Mr. Epstein massages at his Palm Beach mansion told the local police about the encounter. She was 14 at the time, and was paid $200," the New York Times has reported.

The billionaire sex offender accused of pimping out a teenage girl to Prince Andrew also kept former President Bill Clinton on speed dial — 21 of them, court documents show.

Lawyers stumbled upon e-mail addresses and 21 phone numbers for the fun-loving ex-president and his personal aide, Doug Band, stashed away in Jeffrey Epstein’s electronic directory, according to court documents. ... (NOTE: Why does Clinton have 21 phone numbers? My guess is that's the number of fund-raising mechanisms he and Hillary have---that have raised billions for them through their several "foindations.")

Those lawyers even considered subpoenaing Clinton since he “might well be a source of relevant information” — but Bubba was never deposed. Clinton and his unseemly relationships will likely come up in his wife's 2016 presidential run. Including his ties to Epstein.

They shouldn't fret so much. She's just in it for the free clothes.

LOL, quite true. Still, you could say that about Kerry and Gore, and they both came very, very close to becoming President.

Hillary arrives to receive the coveted Gold-plated Knitting Needles statuette: cited as the Democrat candidate "Most Likely to Unravel."

One of Hillary's standout qualifications (/snort) is that
she gallantly stood by him when Billy got lubed in the
Oval Office by a young intern...who Hillary later
vilified as a "stalker."

MEMORY LANE Hillary has a cute way of bouncing out of
trouble. When Billy got lewinskied in the Oval Office,
Hillary's sub rosa political ambitions were in deep doo-doo.
What to do? Easy. Blame it on conservatives.

Hill went on network TV---the go-to when a Dim is in trouble.
She was all decked out in virginal pearls and blamed
Billy's B/J on the "VRWC."

Comparing notes?

Whoever does it will have to be an economic populist. That’s the only way they’re going to peel any white blue-collar votes back into the Democrat column. They only get themselves into trouble with those voters when they start talking racepolitik, gun control and environmental extremism.

“I’m thinking Andrew Cuomo might be the guy...”

If he runs, and it turns into a spaghetti election, say hello to President Cuomo.

IMHO

I can hear the screaming and bitching from here when the liberals are successful in doing everything they can by shutting down Walmart. Where would all those weird welfare taking people go to shop?

“If Warren doesn’t run in 2016, it will be interesting to see just who on the left *does* step up to challenge Hillary Clinton. I believe it’s coming. The Democratic base and national Democratic Party are both hard left. Hillary’s feeble attempts to play Bill Clinton-moderate didn’t work in 2008, and I don’t think they will sell in 2016.”

The Democrat party is like the politburo. Look at the succession. Warren is Obama’s successor. The Hillary camp will at the least cause problems during the primaries and if Obama signs off on it, Hillary will be the candidate with only token competition.

I’m still going with Castro being on the ticket. In what capacity I still haven’t decided.
