Turkish PM: If Europe persists in its ‘Holy Roman attitude’, it is over

As a consequence of the Eurozone crisis, racism is on the rise, in the same way that the 1929 crisis inspired anti-Semitism. But this time the scapegoats are Muslims, Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu told a Brussels audience on Thursday (15 January). […]

One important message was that the EU, and the West in general, had missed the opportunity provided by the Arab revolutions. The West didn’t mobilize, as it did for Eastern Europe, after the end of the Cold War, Davutoğlu argued.

More concretely, he blamed the West for not having supported the “moderate young generation” in Syria, the result being that terrorists filled the vacuum.

He also criticized EU ministers’ handling of the situation in Egypt and the Middle East. …

The painful reality for this Islamist is that Islamic culture is simply not compatible with the values , practices, scientific and social advances that constitute Western modernity. When forced to confront modernity, as Islam has been forced to do over the past one hundred years, it devolves into chaos and regressive violence. The jihadists are barbaric bewildered reactionaries who are fighting to restore the customs, laws and even dress of the 11th century. He need not look beyond his own Turkey, where the remarkable reforms of Ataturk have been abandoned and the current leaders dream of restoring a medieval caliphate complete with the costumes. He should ask himself why in the past one hundred years the Islamic worls has not produced even one scientific, social or technological innovation the world readily wants or utilizes. When they exhaust their raw materials, they will starve.

Then why are Jews still the ones being targeted and being forced to flee?

“He made no mention of the reasons for which a number of EU countries have blocked the talks, and never once mentioned Cyprus.”

Of course not! Cyprus, mention Cyprus? That might remind everyone of the American right wing’s blessing of the rape of Orthodox Cyprus in 1974. The sooner this Turkish dog and his keeper, the demonic Erdogan, he of the 1000 room palace, get thrown on the scrap heap of history the better!

I support restoring the Caliph at Istanbul - and the sultanate as well.

First of all - Johnny Turk knows how to deal with Arabs.

Second, this will give Islam GPS coordinates for our Trident subs.

I would not want to see Istanbul bombed. I want Constantinople restored as the capitol of Byzantium.

A ‘scapegoat’ is someone who hasn’t done anything wrong, but gets blamed anyways. Muslims are constantly attacking and murdering us, so they cannot qualify as ‘scapegoats’.
