I know this may not be the right forum but with the demonstration tonight against radical islamists speaking in a Garland ISD Texas building and Pamela Geller coming here to be part of it I wonder why I can open a link to her web site" Atlas shrugs"? I have tried for 2 days using every engine I have and it always comes back 504 error or something like that.
It would not surprise me if it were deliberate but it could also be my stupidity. can anyone else get to her website?
I mean why I can NOT open a link to her site.
Seriously, you might try “Atlas Shrugged” as a search...I know that II is on Netflix as an offering.
BTW, I bought ASIII a few days ago at WM and found it good. :0)

I read somewhere online that Pamela Geller has been the victim of a DDOS attack.
DDOS = Distributed Denial of Service
This is where ‘zombie’ or compromised computers gang up on her site to shut it down using various tricks - ping of death, mass traffic, etc.

Hackers take stealthy control of thousands of computers across the Internet and from all over the world. They sit and quietly wait instructions from their zombie/hacker masters.
Then, all at once, they are directed at some site to crash it.
It is hard to trace since it comes from thousands or millions of computers are once and from all over the world.
The owners of those computers are unaware that their machines have been used in this attack.
Imagine if you were an evil attacker and you could get millions of computers infected with your special virus - a virus that puts you in control. Then you make the virus find the largest images on her site and each computer will download it and delete it again and again overloading her server. Or they can ping her with a long ping or multiple pings that will crash her server... or any million other ways.

This would not be the first time her site has been attacked, it will be back, she is tenacious and fearless in the face of islam, she gets nowhere near the support she deserves, so protecting against islamic and progressive liberal democrat communist attacks is costly and I think beyond her means to do all that can and should be done IMO!
