The federal government is completely out of control.

It's been that way for quite sometime.

It's a one party system perpetrating a non stop version of Kabuki theater on America.

Most people are too busy with their "bread & circuses" to either pay attention or care about what's happening.

Let them try. The House zeroes out funding for the FCC and not all the media pimps in the country can make 0bama look good. Even Boehner can’t pass up a free lunch like that.

That’s why he’s pushing local government-operated broadband as an alternative. Force the overall price down and nobody will notice how much of it is now going to Washington.

And my long-desired ultra-conservative Pirate Radio Station takes to the air the following day...

I’m not sure what there is to do about it.

I do believe Article V convention is the only remaining civil solution, but there is so much foot dragging on this as if we have time to drag feet.

Furthermore, no one trusts anyone in government to do anything along these lines in a correct or honest manner, and this distrust is completely understandable, I have some of this myself.

I don’t know how we can have representative government, or any kind of government for that matter, when all we have in this country are liars and schemers.

I am pretty dismayed ;/

I think I’ma go walk my dog in the sunshine.

“that FCC already has the authority to take over regulating and taxing the Internet...”

Hogwash. FCC only has authority over public airwaves, and the internet not broadcast on the public airwaves.

well, so long as they do nothing to restrain Big O, send them home. Every Comgresscritter up there, buy each a bus ticket (one way, lots of stops) and lock the doors behimd them. No more pay, no more bennies, forget the Congressional gym and pool, and I hope you have your own insurance.

When I don’t work I don’t get paid, why should they?

Although Congress has mandated the general nature of the federal universal service fund and telecommunications relay services, it is the FCC that has the sole authority to set the budget size and the fee structure to perform its regulatory mandate.

No, the sole authority lies with Congress. The authority that the FCC exercises is only that delegated by Congress.

What exactly is “net neutrality”?

If the net is to be neutral then what’s the problem? isn’t that a good thing?

“And since that branch of government has completely abandoned all of its legitimate functions, the son of a bitch has the power to do whatever he wants.”.......

So do the “people” have such power. We can eliminate him in a number of ways, it just takes the fortitude to do it and/or some lunatic with the means and desire.

He cant even do it with Congress.

FCC and Internet Tax!!

FCC??? Federal Communications Commission .

Dang. I must have an old copy of the constitution. Mine doesn’t list the Federal Communications Commission anywhere in it.

But I do see this as one of the planks of communist manifesto:

6. Centralization of the means of communication and transportation in the hands of the state.

The FCC was established in 1934.

The government is a liar.

If it says it is going to do X, then it is going to do Y.

If it says the net is going to be neutral, then you can damn well bet it’s going to be anything but neutral.

The upcoming FCC rulings and network neutrality are really just a prelude to nationalization of the communications infrastructure. The Democrats, RINOs/GOPe, and the political elites just love this idea.

This will be followed shortly by nationalization of other infrastructure, such as the railroads and airlines.

And to think that the GOP is every bit as responsible for tyranny in government as the democrats. After all the GOP has just sat back with a smile on their face and let it happen. It was once more than clear that congress writes the laws. And not these departments run by rouge political activists.
