The nominations and winners are selected by the Academy members — essentially all of the film industry stars. So how is protesting the movie studios going to stop the employees from submitting their secret ballots? This is a peer vote, and last I checked, that included all of the “actors of color”.

OK, fine. Let’s pass a law that says that every year, no matter what, some blacks are nominated for something. God knows the poor dears need lowered standards in every other way ... let’s just pass out a token Oscar every year to some black person in the industry.
