Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) received a ticket for being a minor in possession of alcohol in 1987, when he was a senior in high school, BuzzFeed News reported on Tuesday night.
The revelation was discovered in an application, obtained by BuzzFeed, which Cruz completed for the position of Texas solicitor general back in 2003.
According to the report, police found an unopened case of beer in Cruz's vehicle and issued him a ticket for the offense.
“Teenagers often make foolish mistakes, and that certainly applied to me as well,” Cruz told BuzzFeed News in a statement.
Mary Jo Kopechne could not be reached for comment.

Mine were all empties.
My brother and I had to open and dump out an entire case of beer. We were not cited though. Don’t they know how hard it was to come up with a case of beer at that ripe young age? It was police brutality, I’m tellin ya.

The only really bad part of the story is that the cop confiscated his beer before Cruz got to enjoy it. That bites (I wonder if it was Lonestar?)

This is apparently much more important than Bill Clinton’s sexual assaults and his wife’s threats and intimidation against several women.
Argh, that’s awful! Was it cheap beer, at least? Because I’d hate to think you had to dump some of the good stuff.
Though if it had been the good stuff, the officer probably would have confiscated it for the “evidence room.”

LOL, I was 5 years old and I was drinking beer. However I never entered politics, so who cares? Bush got a DWI, I wonder what the Kennedy’s had going at that age. And Slick probably has some white lightning in his back ground. Oh, and then the Chumer? OK, lets face it, its bad for a Republican, but its a high point on the resume for a Democrat.
Already, the media has vetted Ted Cruz more than Obama.
Which makes the black hole in which Øbama’s past and the media’s curiosity hides even more of an issue
