INDIANAPOLIS - A homeless man was accused in the stabbing death of a good Samaritan who took him into his home for the night.
On Jan. 7, police were called to a home in the 3700 block of North Meridian Street on reports of a homicide.
When police arrived they found the body of Gale Haltrom, 58, of Indianapolis, with multiple stab wounds.
Detectives said Haltrom had invited a homeless couple from a nearby bus stop into his home.
While the female was away, Haltrom got into an argument with the homeless man, who became violent, police said.

Shocked, I am!
Gee, let me guess ... Oh, wait ... picture already here. My guess was right.
So I say to myself, self, do not invite homeless people into your house.
Black on white. PC probably got him killed.
I bet that when it gets to trial, he will say the made made homosexual advances to him.
“So I say to myself, self, do not invite homeless people into your house.”
We pay so much in taxes, the high number of charities and non-profits for “homeless” (especially to my lib parish who feeds hundreds everyday like it was a buffet), why would you want to invite them to your own house?
On a dark stormy night a liberal moonbat got all generous and bewitched by liberal bull sperm propaganda and invited a FULL fledged stone thugg into his bouse and his “bitch”...
AND..... well....... you know.. the “gene pool” got cleansed a little..
It; All turned out FINE...
There are no homeless people now that Obama is pResident.
Nope...the media just can’t find any unless a Republican is in the White House
Homeless people are homeless for a reason - alcohol, drugs, mental problems. They’ve burned through their family and friends. No way would I invite them into my home. Sorry, if that’s cold.
The deceased probably started asking too many probing questions, “Tell me the truth, is that lady a hooker and are you like, her pimp, or does that question make me sound like a profiling racist? Not that im interested, more like intrigued, if you really wanna know.”
Sadly, many homeless people are homeless for very understandable reasons. Unless you know those, your help will be useless.
Misplaced compassion isn’t compassion at all. It shows no attempt to understand the actual reasons why people have the problems they do, so no real help can be offered. Thus, they really do no good at all.
This is NOT a good neighborhood for a person of any color.
In fact, I don't know what the race of the victim is, but it wouldn't surprise me if they were black.
Wait, you mean a homeless guy with a knife can be dangerous? Numerous FReepers in the Albuquerque police shooting threads have assured me they are perfectly harmless.
I wouldn't. That is why I told myself never to invite homeless people into my house.
Nearly took a tire iron to the head once when giving a jump to a couple and their three children that were stranded with a dead battery in a parking lot. My crime? The wife-type said thank you to me. If I didn’t have three friends with me at the time I might not be here today. Nope, I see somebody stranded, well that’s too bad, too many drug-adled crazies in this world.
