Romney or Bush: Who would you prefer if you had to choose for 2016 nomination? And Why?

Posted on 01/10/2015 7:43:45 AM PST by inchworm

I'd take Romney. He seems more like he is learning, understanding, and trying to be more conservative as the years go on. Bush on the other hand is floating ideas that seem far less conservative to me as the years go on.

However, CRUZ IS MY TOP CHOICE!!! Go CRUZ!

Ok, but it seems Democrats didn’t follow that advertising strategy. I know the Bain attack ads were on TV here nonstop.

I get that there are certain states that are more important than others and where a candidate should campaign more so than others. But is it really prudent to ignore other states entirely?

Where I live is a Democrat stronghold and Romney likely would have lost anyway. On the other hand, there were quite a few people here who were disgruntled with Obama. Romney might have had their votes had he seriously campaigned.

"it's probably even too late for a conservative President."

You better move to Cuba, then, because I'm planning to work on making it better here.

Faaageddabaaatit!!!!

STOP talking about candidates and personalities!!!

NAIL DOWN ALL THE ISSUES FIRST. FIRST!!!!

Once that has been done and AGREED UPON then look for the candidate who fits.

This horserace bullsh!t is counterproductive at BEST.

Well I have no doubt at this time the race for 2016 will be Hillary vs Rino, Cruz is the best conservative candidate however unless conservatives in Congress separate themselves from the Dino/Rino uniparty and establish an opposition party; Cruz has not a chance, conservatives need to divorce the uniparty; come out from among the beast and do it now.

On 1/6/15 the republican party officially died after suffering a long terminal illness and the Dino/Rino uniparty was created, the stench of death surrounds it, that beastly one party system cannot be defeated from within; what fellowship can light have with darkness, all other options for the restoration of our Free Republic have been exhausted many will disagree, there is no other recourse IMO!

Cruz for POTUS 2016 he/we can as the leader of the opposition party, it can be done, the fruit of the uniparty has rotted on the vine, cut it out plow it under the seeds of a new healthy and strong vine are ready if planted now and harvested on November 2016.

Neither

Been reading and hearing that all those who wouldn’t vote for Romney are to blame for this

As if it’s not the fault of people giving the education of their children over to this mess; not the fault of liberal voters; not the fault of the voters who don’t think about our founding principles which are the only thing that could get us out of this morass; not the fault of the pricks at the GOP who hate the founding principles; not the fault of Romney who swept the presidency right over to Bo last 2 debates after hammering every halfway decent republican candidate with his ridiculous amounts of cash

I voted for Romney

Never ever again. And bush is the most ridiculous candidate who ever forced his way onto the scene

No

Oh, Cruz

I will do as recommended by I think Reagan and vote for the most conservative in both the primary and the general election. I assume that would mean someone like Walker or Cruz in the primary but if its either Bush or Romney in the general I would crawl over broken glass to vote for him against any of the Dems. So I don’t foresee having the choice of either Bush or Romney. I think that each is a competent administrator which is something we don’t have now. I also think that each is an honorable man. I disagree with each on several topics but I doubt whether there is a perfect candidate out there.

Well that’s a poor choice and I hope Ted Cruz is running but my line in the sand is Jebbie and Crispy. They are a no go zone for me.

Good picks. I would add Daffy Duck to the list, though.

Probably Romney... maybe Walker.

Let’s not allow another Obama or Clinton be elected. Whoever wins the primary(s) has my vote.

“Since barring a direct act of God, Ted Cruz wouldn’t ever be elected, so the best alternative is Gov. Walker. “

Not a flame...but do you honestly believe the American people are going to vote for a guy to be the most powerful man in world that doesn’t even have a college degree? I just don’t see that happening once the national media has their way with him.

The Republican party has openly declared war on the Tea party and you want me to retaliate by voting for the very people leading the charge? And why would a staunch conservative want to move to Cuba? I don’t get your logic...
I am now a fan of the Cloward/Priven strategy. After the fall I will work to reinstate our Constitution, it’ll never happen at the ballot box, especially with the likes of Bush and Romney.

I listened to the The Diane Rehm Show yesterday (don’t ask why) and she and a guest where talking about how Jeb has a lock on the repub nomination.

The liberals have all decided Jeb is their man.

I also believe in doing as Ronald Reagan said here:

Ronald Reagan Quote:

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldn't make any sense at all.""
