I can fully imagine everything the HabWorld inhabitants doing having some impact on the past in some fashion in such a way that it directly causes them to begin their journey in the first place.
That said, postulation on nanotech subversion: the rule of firsts, a mind once already present within the object to be suborned cannot suborn the object again. I.E.: If your mental imprint is already present prior, you cannot take whole control. For example, you are an AI, and you try to wrest control of the person/system that created you, you cannot as you are already in there.
It would be like trying to open the door by closing it.
As with all rules, there are exceptions.

It's in volume two of “Pure D-shearian meanderings”.
The volume that slips through a crack in space-time and causes ructions on a grand scale in another dimension.

"For example, you are an AI, and you try to wrest control of the person/system that created you, you cannot as you are already in there." This sorta makes sense in regard to the relationship between (AI) Ruby and (AI) Pearl, in my book "Reaction!"
Ruby begat Pearl. But later, when Pearl went sorta "rogue", Ruby became subsumed into Pearl's persona.
You might note that my example expresses precisely the opposite of the point you're trying to establish. Are you sure you stated that correctly?
My alter ego's problem in that book was that Pearl elected to clone him when he fell ill. Of necessity, in that procedure, he also became subsumed into Pearl's persona.
And that became the caution in the cautionary tale.

It’s tough for everyone to call, even the pundits on ESPN.
I’m set: Since I like both teams, I may be disappointed but not for long. What I need is a Seahawks beanie to wear with my Patriots T-shirt! LOL!

Your job sounds so exciting! LOL!
Years ago, when I was a Greyhound agent in a small town, I had a call from a woman who wanted to know when the “next bus” left. So I gave her the time of the next bus (four going north, four going south on a daily basis.) He next question stymied me: What time does it get there? Eh?

(Is a female avatar an Avatart?) Almost universally, only if the originator of the female avatar is male.
They become shameless hussies when they get turned loose.

Well, Busdaddy, being from MA, is a Pats fan and since I’m a guest in his home today, I will root for them as well. But having lived 60 miles south of Seattle, and having a son who likes the Seahawks, I’m happy when they win, too. So like I said: I’m good either way!
