Interesting...Can you flesh that out for us?

Sorry so late to respond, just got home from work and supper done. Check #119 on this thread, I put what he had posted on his facebook. Where it came down to a choice between Boehner and Pelosi which was also what Mia Love said. I believe they were told to say that due to the outcry from American people. No way would Pelosi win with a Repub majority.

That is the one silver lining in this for me as Huelskamp is my rep and I'm proud he did the right thing.

You must be close to me if Huelskamp is your rep. I didn't know if there were any FReepers in this fairly unpopulated part of KS. Glad there are!

wow it only took 4 posts for someone with guts to stand up for her. congrats.

It is not about Mia Love. Where was the organized effort months ago to get a conservative replacement for Boehner? My rep Mo Brooks explained it very well this morning. Mid-2014 he was begging established prominent conservative reps to run against Boehner. None of them would do it. This happened throughout 2H2014. Where were the conservative leaders with guts to take Boehner’s place? Then we get this pathetic last ditch effort 4 days before the vote? 25 reps splitting their vote across a handful of people including a Senator?

“Rep. Daniel Webster (R-Fla.), whose nomination for Speaker became public just minutes before the vote, attracted the most votes at 12.

Meanwhile, the other two long-shot candidates, Reps. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) and Ted Yoho (R-Fla.) only received three and two votes each.”

pathetic. conservatives must get organized and consolidate what little power we have around a single candidate in situations like this.

There’s nothing artificial bout the argument. We sent a bunch of first timers who ran against the establishment and they screwed us first cat out of the bag. We already have lying ass politicians...we don’t need more. She’s a coward who voted the safe vote.

She got boneheads talking point lies to a tee.

Using Boehner’s canned talking points is just as big an indictment as the actual vote, IMHO. She’s on Team Beltway now.

It seems the “conservative” leadership is more interested in nest feathering than engaging the RINOs. I see TEA party patriots is making T-shirts instead of targeting specific RINOs for their votes. There is no conservative Tom Steyer threatening smack down for pushing amnesty, etc.

Until Main Street gets some fire power backing us nothing will change. The GOP/MSM/DEM tag team attack on conservatives will continue.

Her purposeful ignorance is very telling on this issue!

Exactly. That line of her might play in LiberalLand, but we're not low-information voters here.

She has a point in that the challenge to Boner was not well done. In fact it was rather haphazard.

Yeah, we're really going to have his back because the republican establishment is going to come after him worse next time.

Yeah, really! I really thought the important thing was to get reinforcements for the Republicans already in Congress to hopefully stop Obama and the leftists in Congress? I read somewhere on here, a person asked if Mia Love campaigned on getting Boener out of the speaker’s position. I don’t remember Mia Love running on that either!

She was a lot of peoples’ conservative dream, as was Trey Gowdy. (and a number of others) Now, however, they appear to have committed some mortal political sin, according to some on here! They (especially the new ones) are going to need a lot of patience, they’ve just barely got in there.

We badly need them in there to try to fight the President and his leftist friends, and it’s not going to be easy. They’ll be broken and bloody outcasts before they even begin to fight, for heaven’s sake!

Mia Love almost didn’t win, many of us in Utah were afraid she was not going to make it. There were a bunch of liberal people on Facebook, crabbing that she had weird ideas and that she was sooo extreme, and they were afraid she would win, and the world would end (I made that last item up, sort of). Now she’s getting crap from conservatives! Good heavens, she’s only human, she can’t please everyone all the time!

I would’ve thought that people would be so happy to get a decent, conservative person like her (and many of the other new people? Some people will expect she and the others to be pure and virginal, conservative saints at all times; but, I’m afraid they’ll never be satisfied! I guess we really didn’t win anything if people are already mad at them for voting for Boener!

I wonder how we are going to get through even more important battles, if we’re hung up on getting rid of the Speaker of the House? Is that the most important issue of all? (I’m not fussing at you, I’m complaining in general!) It was something of a miracle that the Republicans got the Senate back, as well as keeping the house, why do some people have to sneeze all over the miracle win?

“Someone hood winked her with that scenario and many on here believed the same thing - so why throw stones at her?”

The normal FReeper is simply an american trying to live their busy lives. Mia was specifically elected to represent us and it is her responsiblity to study and understand the issues and processes.

Clearly, this shows that she is either not willing to take that responsibility or that she is not capable.

“I’m absolutely disgusted with these republicans. How did they not know 60% to 75% (depending on survey) of republicans polled wanted Speaker Boehner gone from his leadership position?”

Don’t be fooled into thinking that they “did not know.” The capital switchboard was shut down multiple times before the vote with constituents pointing it out..

They knew, they simply did not care! In other words, they care more about being part of the “in crowd” than they care about you, or me!

“The ONLY sector of the economy booming right now is tech.”

That and FedGov. Remember, the DC area never experienced the down turn that the rest of us are still experiencing.

You do know, don’t you, that all incoming freshmen to Congress have a mentor who “guides” them. Like I said, she may have been hoodwinked - but, you can post and moan and groan all you want - what’s done is done - and hopefully, she’ll do better in the future. Boehner was going to win anyway - Land,s giver he time to learn her job. Most new employees screw up when first hired - some on here are worse than the left with their iron-fisted, lack of tolerance.

They knew. They just did not give a damn. They do not like Conservatives and worse that that, they do not respect them. And why should they? Mitch McConnell from Kentucky insulted Conservatives in every possible manner and vowed to crush them. Yet, they voted for him in the general election. Same thing happened in Mississippi. The Republicans blatantly and openly stole the primary, which the Conservatives would won had the election been fairly conducted. Yet again, Conservatives voted for Cochran in the general. The establishment Republicans and their king makers such Karl Rove know full well that come next election, After they have destroyed their candidate, Conservatives will be back voting for them. All they will have to do is utter phrases such as, “I will repeal obamacare”. or “I will secure the borders”. And as insurance they will have their cadre of judas goats out chanting and shouting: “If you do not vote for insert RINO’s name, it is a vote for [insert Democrat's name]”, “Obama thanks you”. “Hillary thanks you” ,”[Insert Democrat's name] thanks you”. And last but not least, Conservatives are like abused wives, when the abuser wants them, they always return to be used and abused one more time.

“We badly need them in there to try to fight the President and his leftist friends,”

One of Obama’s best leftist friends is Boehner. In fact, Boehner looks forward to spending time with the president and he loathes the Tea Party.

We will not win anything until we defeat the progressives in the R party!
