Statement on Vote for Speaker Boehner (Scott Perry, R-PA-4)
Office of Congressman Scott Perry ^ | January 6, 2015 | Congressman Scott Perry

Posted on 01/06/2015 11:41:32 AM PST by Timber Rattler

“I’ve emphatically shared my disagreements with House Speaker John Boehner. As one of the leading conservative Members of this body, I opposed the $1.1 trillion omnibus spending bill that did nothing to block President Obama’s unilateral amnesty order, I fought for tougher stances on out-of-control spending, government regulation and ObamaCare, and I refused to vote for a watered down NSA spying bill, amongst myriad other initiatives – most of which unilaterally were ignored by the Democrat-controlled Senate. But the 2014 elections just changed this equation.

This is not a choice about who is the most conservative. It’s a choice about who effectively can lead a broad coalition, including conservative viewpoints, to get our Nation back on track.

We must unite behind our conservative beliefs – not fight with each other. I respect those who disagree with my decision, but instead of demonizing our fellow conservatives or, in some unfortunate cases, questioning my integrity, I urge them to help convince our fellow citizens that our conservative vision of greater freedom and opportunity for all Americans is the key to America’s renewal.”

It’s a shame, really. Roe has been right on about everything, as far as I know. But, when he went wrong on the Cromnibus, the writing was clearly on the wall.

Could someone explain to me why it is so important for these reps. be selected to the various committees? Why is it so important that they compromise their integrity? Am I so naive to still believe that some politicians really are honest and can be trusted. I wrote and called my rep. (Joe Wilsom, S.C.); results: very disappointed!!

I think the answer might be to pick one issue where the majority of voters are on one side and their representatives are on the other and to lean on it heavily. People might not be able to sort the avalanche of daily news which conveniently omits such things as bill numbers and roll call lists, but this is doable, just ask the NRA.

You know the price of failure, congressman.

You failed your constituents, you failed your oath of office, and you failed America and its people. Nothing you can say or do can make up for this failure.

You have thrown in your lot with a coward and a bully. It does not matter if you, too, were a coward, or were being coerced, or bribed.

You had the chance to save our nation in a time of desperate need. But you chose to not do so. It was as if your mother was drowning in a river, and you chose not to throw her a life preserver.

You let your own mother die. That is what you just did. And that is how you will be remembered.

Please spare us your platitudes about how America was old and infirm, and not worth saving. That the scavengers who will pick its bones can offer anything better to our posterity than what we had and you threw away.

Hopefully, in two years time you will be stripped of your seat in congress, and sent home, to live out your remaining years as a man without honor or country. Branded the coward you are. The military decorations you once earned no longer have meaning.

Your choice was to vote for duty, honor and country.

You voted otherwise.

It’s amazing it’s like they think we don’t see this stuff.

Or they know, and still don’t care!

As Hannity says (over and over again): Unbelievable!

I was watching the whole debacle on C-Span and it's funny but after the votes were in the dhimmirats were all smiles and yucking it up and the GOPers were grim.

It's as if they knew they showed themselves as whores and were ashamed.

I pray their betrayal comes back to bite them in the @ss and this POS Perry is the first to lose his seat!

He was in a Tea Party meeting a few years ago and I asked him about the “robbery” of Medicare to fund Obamacare. You talk about obfuscating......everything but the truth. Later in the same meeting another person repeated the question. As of this day there’s no straight answer from Dr. Roe..very disappointing turn of events.

We must unite behind our conservative beliefs

"Where does one register to vote with a city?"

Registrar of Voters office is in City Hall - that's where I pick up my absentee ballots when I'm scheduled to be away for business on election day.
Next question, Theo....
