John McCain's Wacko "Ethnic Cleansing" of Tea Party
Investor's Business Daily ^ | January 2. 2014 | IBD EDITORIALS

Republicans: Political purges may work in totalitarian states, but in a democracy they can be self-defeating. The senator who called the Tea Party "wacko birds" should realize the GOP's real enemies are called Democrats.

It's been said that all politics is local, and normally a state party's internal squabbles would not be national news. But when they involve a former presidential candidate on an issue that will affect the selection of the GOP's 2016 presidential nominee and chances, we sit up and take notice.

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., who lost the 2008 election to Barack Obama and who is running for re-election in 2016, wants to pull the Arizona portion of the grass-roots movement known as the Tea Party out by the roots and purge the ranks of the Arizona GOP of precinct committeemen and local party chairmen aligned to the Tea Party.

Local McCain opponent A.J. LaFaro, who has announced that he will not seek re-election to the Maricopa County GOP chairmanship, has compared the McCain organization's attempted party purge of Tea Party supporters to "ethnic cleansing."

Says the guy who provided the start up capital for ISIS. I wonder if the brisk business being done in the Mosul slave markets troubles McCain..?

Destroying John McCain’s political career should be every conservative’s Job One. The a-hole has done nearly as much damage to this nation as has Obama by continually undercutting the most motivated and effective segment of his party.

In before the grimace or tongue-sticking out pic of McCain.

Well said. How he was re-elected is still puzzling. But then again, this is the new America.

He does not not deserve a "forever" get-out-of-jail card.

Both he and Glenn should have at least been booted out of the Senate for being in the Keating Five, if not booted into prison.

Here’s hoping the GOP in Arizona can come up with a strong candidate who can send McCain back to Hanoi.

“We have nothing to fear from an Obama presidency.” — John McCain, 2008.

Time to retire this imbecilic ringer for Zero.

He keeps getting re-elected because of his ability to bring home the “pork” to his home state.

McLame calling conservatives “wacko birds” and Tea Party activists “hobbits” shows just how unhinged the b**tard is, he belongs in a padded room.

The IBD Editors forget that in 2000, McCain lost in the presidential primary and considered jumping from the Republican party to the Democratic party.

The IBD Editors forget that in 2004, McCain wanted and reached out to Democratic presidential nominee to be Kerry's VP. Kerry declined.

The IBD Editors forget that in 2008, Republican presidential nominee, John McCain wanted former Democrat and Democrat-Independent Joe Lieberman as his VP running mate, but McCain's staff quashed that and convinced McCain to offer the slot to Sarah Palin.

Come again?

No way. Those are his friends across the aisle.

John McCain should not be hammered. He should be left alone.
He and we need to move on.

John McCain calls us "wacko birds," Bitch McConnell says he wants to "crush the Tea Party." I say "et tu, Brute!"

These guys, and Boehner, are the reason I bolted from the Republican Party.

The senator who called the Tea Party "wacko birds" should realize the GOP's real enemies are called Democrats.

The Democrats are just there to fight about who gets 60% of the power, kickbacks and post-Congress lobbying fees and who gets 40%. The Tea Party is looking to kick over the entire, festering anthill.

When Republicans in Congress count the Tea Party as the enemy, then they are also calling the Constitution and the American people their enemies too.
