POPE: UN MUST FIGHT 'GLOBAL WARMING'
the guardian ^ | 12/27/14 | j vidal

He has been called the “superman pope”, and it would be hard to deny that Pope Francis has had a good December. Cited by President Barack Obama as a key player in the thawing relations between the US and Cuba, the Argentinian pontiff followed that by lecturing his cardinals on the need to clean up Vatican politics. But can Francis achieve a feat that has so far eluded secular powers and inspire decisive action on climate change?

It looks as if he will give it a go. In 2015, the pope will issue a lengthy message on the subject to the world’s 1.2 billion Catholics, give an address to the UN general assembly and call a summit of the world’s main religions.

The reason for such frenetic activity, says Bishop Marcelo Sorondo, chancellor of the Vatican’s Pontifical Academy of Sciences, is the pope’s wish to directly influence next year’s crucial UN climate meeting in Paris, when countries will try to conclude 20 years of fraught negotiations with a universal commitment to reduce emissions.

“Our academics supported the pope’s initiative to influence next year’s crucial decisions,” Sorondo told Cafod, the Catholic development agency, at a meeting in London. “The idea is to convene a meeting with leaders of the main religions to make all people aware of the state of our climate and the tragedy of social exclusion.”

Following a visit in March to Tacloban, the Philippine city devastated in 2012 by typhoon Haiyan, the pope will publish a rare encyclical on climate change and human ecology. Urging all Catholics to take action on moral and scientific grounds, the document will be sent to the world’s 5,000 Catholic bishops and 400,000 priests, who will distribute it to parishioners.

The Pope obviously has little scientific knowledge.

I fear this is not a scientific issue. It seems that the UN is trying to use the global warming Trojan Horse to unify all of the worlds nations . It also seems that the Pope is trying to unify the worlds religions.

Could this be a joint venture?

This Latin-American, leftist, douchebag pope is really looking to diminish his office. Stick to matters spiritual where you have some expertise you Argentinian, communist puke!

I don’t know how many men are addicted to porn, but it’s a HUGE problem.

I think the reason he said “Catholic men” instead of just “men” is not that he was saying that Catholic men have a greater problem, but that Catholic men should be the Pope’s special concern.

Seriously, the Pope should NOT be spouting the Socialist lies of Satan.

Maybe if a real Scientist explained it to him he would be able to tell everyone the truth.

Back with the old deflecting arguments...again? I’m sure none of these heroes of Rome are offended by your ignorance.

Bernadine: …all gifts, all virtues, and all graces are dispensed by the hands of Mary to whomsoever, when, and as she pleases. O Lady, since thou art the dispenser of all graces, and since the grace of salvation can ONLY come through thy hands, OUR SALVATION DEPENDS ON THEE.

Bonaventure: …the gates of heaven will open to all who confide in the protection of Mary. Blessed are they who know thee, O Mother of God, for the knowledge of THEE is the high road to everlasting life, and the publication of thy virtues is the way of ETERNAL SALVATION. Give ear, O ye nations; and all you who desire heaven , serve, honor Mary, and certainly you will find ETERNAL LIFE.

Ephem: …devotion to the divine Mother…is the unlocking of the heavenly Jerusalem.

Blosius: To the, O Lady, are committed the KEYS and the treasures of the kingdom of Heaven.

Ambrose: …constantly pray ‘Open to us, O Mary, the gates of paradise, since thou hast its KEYS.

Fulgetius: …by Mary God descended from Heaven into the world, that by HER man might ascend from earth to Heaven.

Athanasius: …And, thou, O Lady, wast filled with grace, that thou mightiest be the way of our SALVATION and the means of ascent to the heavenly Kingdom.

Richard of Laurence: Mary, in fine, is the mistress of heaven; for there she commands as she wills, and ADMITS whom she wills.

Guerric: …he who serves Mary and for whom she intercedes, is as CERTAIN of heaven as if he were already there…and those who DO NOT serve Mary will NOT BE SAVED.

Anselm: It suffices, O Lady, that thou willest it, and our SALVATION is certain.

Antoninus: …souls protected by Mary, and on which she casts her eyes, are NECESSARILY JUSTIFIED AND SAVED.

Frankly, I don’t really care if the Catholics take me seriously. I post corrections to their errors to help others who are reading that self-promoting drivel so that anyone who has not yet been brainwashed can see the truth of the Roman Cult.

Agreed.

Unfortunately, the Pope IS abusing his office. He should never say anything about anything other than the dogma of the faith, and morals. The same goes for all bishops.

Instead, they use their office as a platform for self-aggrandizement, for political power, or just to hear their “thoughts” being amplified by the media.

I haven’t checked to see who was the last agreed-upon really bad Pope, but my estimate is that this is the worst Pope in about 350 years.

Vatican up for sale!

Many sacred relics at fire sale prices.

Everything must go!

Because, the way to affect the temperature of the planet is to give large amounts of money to the government.

*Are your eyes lying to you still? They released what they're going to say!
Good grief, talk about complete and utter ignorance.
Really, you are in total and complete denial. Come down to reality.

And btw, how can somebody prove to you that water is Wet?*

OK, joke's over. Where's the REAL pope?

Well, I liked the Popes of my childhood: rarely seen and never heard. What to do, though? Celebrity is everything these days.

Not a single, solitary quote you cut-and-pasted recommends worshiping Mary. They recommend asking for her prayers and intercession. I know you reject that idea, but it isn’t worship.

Did you ever ask your mother to pray for you?

Did/do you worship your mother?

*Characterize the annual costs in terms of money, energy, and resources to maintain this climatic utopia. Justify why this is a better use of these resources than say, finding a cure for cancer, or other diseases, space exploration, etc. (recognizing that our time on this rock is finite) *

Why would we want to create a Hell-on-Earth by destroying the economies of the world and giving ALL of our freedoms to the government for a hoax that it's Socialist hucksters spread to gain power?

Note to Pope:
Spend more time praying and talking to God instead of listening to the filthy power hungry warm-mongers

Don't confuse what the Guardian --- the most loony-left major newspaper in Britain --- says the Pope *will* say Real Soon Now with what the Pope actually says, when the time comes. They may be the same ... or not at all.

The media prints stuff to get people riled up and sell papers. Sometimes, it has some limited correspondence to the truth.

Next year we’re going to get you some reading lessons. If you think these guys are suggesting “ask mother Mary to pray for them”, you are not paying attention. They claim she saves people...
