Liberals everywhere were outraged this week after Rush Limbaugh said a black man playing James Bond would be “ridiculous.” The comments were made on Tuesday in regard to leaked Sony emails that revealed that CEO Amy Paschal wanted the black actor Idris Elba to play James Bond. Rush, however, wasn’t having any of it. “James Bond is a total concept put together by Ian Fleming. He was white and Scottish. Period. That is who James Bond is, was,” the conservative radio show host said. “But now [they are] suggesting that the next James Bond should be Idris Elba, a black Briton, rather than a white from Scotland.” “That’s not who James Bond is and I know it’s racist to probably point this out,” he added. Liberals everywhere are outraged by these “racist” remarks, but what do you think about it? Sound off in the comments below!

Huh? “Americans they certainly were not”? What were they exactly? Are YOU American? Because by your definition, unless your ancestors were wearing feathers in their hair and watching the Mayflower dock, then I’d say you aren’t one either.

Uhh... have you watched a James Bond movie recently? They aren’t set in the 60’s anymore.
And the first reference to James Bond by Ian Fleming was in 1953.
A black James Bond? It is ridiculous. And Rush has got them all screaming at him (snicker).
I think they ought to get the bull dyke Rosie O’Donnell to play Bond, and Alec Baldwin to play Ms. Moneypenny. And how about Ben Affleck and his boyfriend Matt Daymon to play the Bond girls. And maybe Rush and his cat Pumpkin can play Blofeld. And, of course, Morgan Freeman to play M (or is it Q?).

“Bond movies came out decades ago”. They also continue to come out. WIth a modernized James Bond using all sorts of modern gizmos and gimmetry. And its not supposed to be the same guy Ian Fleming wrote about in 1953. He’d be over 100 years old!
This thread could be a candidate for dumbest of the year.

I was answering a post regarding white slaves in the post-colonial era in the US. If you are aware of any, please provide a reference.
you are missing the point others have said to you.
The Bond creation came out when Scotland was mostly white , not black and therefore Bond is a white man.
You really want to compare indentured servitude to slavery? If you had your choice of being either an indentured servitude or a slave, which would YOU pick?
