As United Nations officials welcome the Christmas Eve entry into force of the U.N. Arms Trade Treaty (ATT), its progress in the U.S. remains hampered by significant Senate opposition and funding prohibitions included in appropriations legislation.
Most recently, the omnibus government funding bill passed by the Congress earlier this month contained new prohibitions on the administration using any funds to implement the conventional arms treaty. Under U.N. procedures the U.S. would be liable for 22 percent of the budget for the ATT secretariat, the body that will oversee its implementation.

The Senate sent Barry a letter long ago warning him not to sign the treaty as they would never ratify it. And they won’t as its unconstitutional and likely to kick off CWII.
moron the att from our “esteemed” buddies at the un:

And the lyin’ king laughed and laughed and laughed. “Constitution? We don’t need no steenkin’ constitution. As long as I got a pen and a phone, I’ll do whatever I feel like.”
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!!
It has no force here.
Still, thanks to this treaty gun deaths will probably go down in Syria, Iraq, Somalia, Sudan. Boko Haram will turn in their guns. ISIS, realizing the jig is up, turn in theirs. The Talibs in Pakistan and Afghanistan apply for gun permits and await the results of the background checks.
Sarcasm at it’s best. I can dig it :)
We know he is taking orders from whomever is on the other end of the phone. I am surprised. I did not know they had phone service in Hell.
You are correct. The first blue helmets in my neighborhood would end up with some big holes in them from some of the folks around here. We don’t play that crap.
Maybe I should run for President... my first act would be to remove the US from the UN. All by executive order of course. Then disband DHS, ATF, etc. Lock down the border, stop wasting money on the war on drugs, mandate back to back amnesties of the NFA until such time as it is repealed. Strip the budget down to bare bones. Etc.
"Towards Universal Participation and Implementation."
Yeah, sure thing.
Just more commie crap for the turd worlders to whine about and stick out their hand for u.S. Taxpayer money.
NO.
.
There are appx 200 members of the UN. Fine. uS to pay its proportional share, that being 1/200th of the budget.
its progress in the U.S. remains hampered
A rather odd phasing from a CNS writer....
Arms control is a joke. A lot of national governments are corrupt, run by military or socialist dictators or hungry for money and sell arms they make or buy supposedly for their army out the back door. These same governments are either cooperating with international criminal cartels or terrorists, Even some who sign this treaty do this.
The USA is pretty good about controlling arms shipped abroad due to licensing or border controls so we don’t need this treaty.
We have had lapses as our missile and a-bomb tech was leaked during the Clinton years and the computer hackers in Red China, Russia, Iran, etc have had their noses in every US gov’t and business data center. We have no secretes from bad actors. Stolen info is as dangerous as actual weapons.
I agree. This treaty does Nothing to stop bloodshed. Absolutely Nothing good. Satan powers the UN.
This supposed satan character holds no truck in my life. I’d blow his shiite away as well as anyone else’s. Just one more step over the threshold.
Merry Christmas.
If that would ever really happen, it wouldn’t take long before the UN would be a fading memory.
Refusing the 22% is a good start. Next we can completely cut off all US funding for the UN. What a Christmas gift that would be.
“It has no force here.”
It has no force here, YET. I’ve seen it happen over and over with government, both national and state - start with a little bit in print, then gradually approve a little bit, let people get used to that, then add a bit more, and when it’s over, the whole thing is in effect. We have to have Cruz as president to save the country from complete destruction.
You describe the boiling frog theory well.
Merry Christmas.
