Report: GOP Establishment Plotting to Oust Conservative Leader Sen. Mike Lee
breitbart.com ^ | 12/23/14 | Tony Lee

Some prominent moderate establishment Republicans in Utah are plotting to target conservative icon Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) with a primary challenge in 2016.

Lee’s offense? He didn’t drink the Washington Kool-aid and see the D.C. cesspool as a jacuzzi after he ousted incumbent Sen. Bob Bennett (R-UT), who had supported the TARP bailouts, in 2010.

When Lee prevailed over Bennett, he gave other conservatives across the country hope that they could also defeat entrenched incumbents who cared more about preserving the status quo above all else. Once Lee arrived in Washington, he didn’t turn his back on the base, which angered some prominent establishment Republicans.

According to a report in Politico, moderate GOP billionaires like Jon Huntsman Sr. and “some powerful establishment Republicans in Utah are tired” of Lee’s conservatism and willingness to live up to his campaign promises instead of letting the D.C. establishment co-opt him.

During his first Senate term, Lee has established himself as one of conservatism’s leading voices. As Politico implies, establishment Republicans do not like him because he stood with Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) to defund Obamacare and has supported defunding Obama’s executive amnesty with Sens. Cruz and Jeff Sessions (R-AL). Most recently, Lee has offered positive solutions via his conservative reform agenda that specifically focuses on improving the lives of working Americans with conservative policies.

Huntsman, the father of President Barack Obama’s former Ambassador to China and failed 2012 GOP presidential candidate Jon Huntsman, reportedly has refused to meet with Lee because of his “extremely radical” positions against Obamacare and executive amnesty. Huntsman said the government shutdown cost his cancer research foundation millions in federal taxpayer dollars, and he predicted “a major primary challenge” against Lee, telling Politico that Lee is an “embarrassment” and “an extremist.”

Merry Christmas, mj1234,

you can’t run [as a Democrat] if you do not support:

Homsexual agenda
abortion
black liberation
Atheists

I have run as a Democrat who does not support the above causes. I will run again to save IN09 from back-stabbing sell-outs like Todd Young.

First Sessions and now Lee. Hold your nose and vote Republican they say. A vote for a third party is throwing your vote away they say.

Bunch of damn cowards. Sit behind a computer posting on a forum bitching and moaning about a party they continue to vote for, expecting change but yet unwilling to change themselves. I’m sick to death of it. And now I believe it’s too late to make a difference at the ballot box, even for a new party.

We don’t need another Reagan. We need another Washington.

I’ve always had a philosophy (and it has always been on my profile) that I don’t vote Republican, I vote candidate.

Read Phyllis Schlafly’s various books and the updated version “A Choice Not an Echo” to understand the the Republican Party has been hijacked by global corporations and Federal Reserve elites. If illegal immigration and amnesty is acceptable now, so will be gun control and confiscation tomorrow. When those who have all the money pull the strings, freedom for the masses will soon be pulled out from under them.

“Let the GOP ‘moderates’ try and remove him.”

I would suggest that they are global corporatists - not moderates. Moderate somewhat denotes not having an agenda. They do have an agenda to export our jobs, or import labor, and destroy the national sovereignty through amnesty, treaties and trade agreements that make only themselves rich. The Constitution and gun control is next.

I am keeping this post, as I am spending Christmas with my minister,(today is his birthday) and I believe there is a sermon in here somewhere By the way, he is a REAL conservative, and therefore a purist. I am fairly certain that God has forgiven him, but after he reads this, I will endeavor to confirm this : )

Good points.

Global corporatists is a good descriptor perhaps even better than the one I use which is ‘Oligarchs’.

But ‘global corporatists’ also suggests wealthy foreign parties. I know for a fact that the Saudis are putting their cash behind certain members of the US Chamber of Commerce.

There might be one indeed ;)

It just befuddles me the lengths to which people go to lie to themselves and justify what they ‘want’ to be true. It’s easy to make your ‘faith’ be whatever you ‘feel’ is right when principles are meaningless. You can justify anything.

I remember reading how Jesus was less than a pacifist when he flipped tables in a temple. But some people just ignore that part because they simply are too afraid of a fight they may lose.

I think a lot of these types never had a fight in school or since so they simply don’t know how. Or they remain too scared of their shadows to engage the issues at hand. Far easier to sit back, pin it all on what they can twist the Bible into saying as an excuse. Just stand tall and march straight into the lions den. Don’t fight it. Don’t do anything to stop it or escape it. Just walk right in there with a garnish for a hat and covered in steak sauce.

Smiling.

Not sure how they got it all so twisted up but they have.

Another keeper.

” Not sure how they got it all so twisted up but they have.”

The Human Condition defies logic & reason.

Everyone makes mistakes and everyone fails eventually in upholding their values. But it’s awfully funny how you can set your watch by the timing of the political failures.

” it’s awfully funny how you can set your watch by the timing of the political failures.”

And how easy it is to know ahead of time what their moves will be.

Thus, 1,000 : )

Lee will win easily whether the Huntsmans like it or not. Recall Bennett didn’t even make the primary, it was Tim Bridgewater versus Lee.

“Global corporatists is a good descriptor perhaps even better than the one I use which is ‘Oligarchs’.”

Both are effectively what they are. The oligarchs get rich because they had connections, and they were cronies, and were able to steal assets of the people at bargain basement prices or get special deals as did those at Solyndra and Wall Street. That’s how they did it in Russia too. Crony capitalism...America has too much of it where some get rich off the back of average taxpayers, and not because they are honest competent business men.

When I hear a clamor from politicians to privatize this or that, I know that underlying it all, will be a quid pro quo deal to make connected cronies rich along with the crooked politicians while the taxpayers will lose what was their asset. I generally oppose privatization of most historic government functions like prisons, military functions, highways and parking etc because in my experience even more cronyism and corruption follows.

“We just saw Boehner block U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions from chairing the budget committee. The moderate wing of the GOP is on the warpath agains GOP conservatives. 2016 may well be our last stand.”

The big global business interests (companies without a country) that own the GOP-e are not friends of conservatives. When big business was America and served America first I wholly supported it. Big business now has too many conflicts of interest to American citizens.

The GOP-corporate establishment supports: Boundless cheap illegal immigrant or insourced labor (whose social costs are to be paid by individual taxpayers); the Carte Blanche right to merge and eliminate competition...jobs and the free market; pull political strings for endless wars that favor profiteers; a nation without privacy via national security state; business capital subsidized by individual taxpayer and crony capitalist policies i.e bailouts; ability to shuffle corporate income all over the world; the right to use eminent domain and seize private property for profit all over the world (including USA).

The globalists are a major threat to our nation, and our sovereignty and Constitutional rights.

You can never let your guard down against the establishment. They have nothing to live for but money, power, and corruption, and the only means they know is Big Government.

Take heart, it sounds like the British Gov't. is finally going after the ring of pedophilia, swishery, corruption, and crony capitalism that has infested London and Whitehall for generations. Given the power that the guilty parties have had, I think the Queen must have finally got fed up with them and thrown her sword into the scales.

I hope.
