A baggage handler for Delta Air Lines moved a lot more than just luggage, authorities say

The weak link in the airport security systems has always been, and always will be, the airline employee.
And minimum wage contracting hasn’t helped that out, one bit.
It’s a good thing NYC has the strictest gun control laws in the nation. Without those strict laws, we would have police officers being gunned down in their patrol cars.
So while they’re feeling up Granny’s Depends, the employees are smuggling guns ..... sounds about right. [/s]
Oh good I was afraid they were moving drugs. KABC radio host Bryan Suits described a similar operation in Los Angeles a few months ago where bikers would lounge in the terminal bar all day and meet with the ramp workers to exchange bags in the mens room. He contacted police about what he saw and maybe they listened.
Really; I thought after 9/11 this was all changed (remember the screeners waving the Arabs through after pulling them aside?).
Not the first, won’t be the last, I’m afraid.
Once the gangs work their way onto the ramps, be it Crips, Outlaws, Mob, etc., things get “interesting”, fast. Plenty of examples of this, going back 50 years or more, such as the JFK Diamond heists, or Drugs at Miami, etc.
It’s really up to management/Local LE’s to keep a lid on this kind of stuff, but sometimes, they’re in on it, too.
Amish?
Yeah they are scumbags who would let the real bad guys go through.
Guns on the other-side of the security screening are common for those that want them, just like knives, crack, meth, dope, etc.
Airports are hundreds of acres with very little perimeter security other than a chain link fence.
There is contraband in employee spaces at nearly every US airport today, but passengers are the ones turned inside out by the TSA.....go figure.
WOW its a good thing the TSA is keeping on top of things strip searching a 3 year old kid in a stroller..maybe she’s packing heat
We found a grocery bag full of cocaine once doing some unscheduled maintenance on a plane . The plane routinely flew on one of the S American routes. The wing panel we removed was not a normally serviced area.
The only reason this made Fox News is because a major airline is involved.
If they’d used Greyhound Bus Lines like most other contraband smugglers, their apprehension might have made page four below the fold.
By the way, if you think you can rent a car in Florida and drive it all the way to New York without getting pulled over somewhere along the way, you’re wrong.
“found a grocery bag full of cocaine once”
Most interesting thing I ever came across was a box of banned turtles.
Now in baggage, that’s a WHOLE other story.
Yeah. Keep asking me to throw away the jar of mustard while you allow affirmative action hires to do whatever they want.
Hmmm. Atlanta. Since the federal government seems to require all Muslims dressed in Muslim garb and Somali immigrants work inside the airport I am assuming someone working as a baggage handler is a more equal person of color that didn’t do nuthin’ was a good boy who loved his 5 kids turning his life around as an aspiring rapper who just made some bad decisions.
The pilots and flight attendants are required to be screened.
The baggage handlers and other employees who have FULL ACCESS TO THE AIRPLANES are not and bypass security at many airports.
How does this make sense?
This is not the first instance of an airline employee who has either brought a gun on an airplane or given one to someone who has already gone through airport screening.
Some Mag smashers working at MIA were driving new Ferraris and Maseratis , I think it brought them under suspicion. They were eventually busted.
Bag smashers
That’s why a lot of ragheads sign up to be baggage handlers.
Of course, it would be racist not to hire them.
