Singer Joe Cocker dead at 70

Joe Cocker has died aged 70 after a battle with lung cancer.

His management confirmed his passing to Britain's IITV News.

Born John Robert Cocker in Sheffield, he achieved international success as a blues/rock singer beginning in the 1960s and recorded 40 albums.

I think it was just an idiosyncrasy of how he was ‘feeling’ what he was singing...I’ve seen similar, if not so exaggerated, in other performers.

I remember he was singing at a concert the night after Princess Diana had died. He dedicated “You are so beautiful” to her, and sang while the tears were streaming down his cheeks and he could barely finish the song.

Yes, I recall that parody as well. . .and I also recall Belushi stating that his parody of Jim was the only skit he regrets doing.

Didn’t even know he was sick. Although certainly back in the day from the way he abused himself, it’s a wonder he made it to 70.
