I’d like to see Ben Carson run for mayor of Detroit.

He’s already a hometown hero with schools named after him. As mayor he could bring the inspiration and spirituality to the people that they’re lacking now. He could also welcome even more GOP reforms to the city instead of fighting them all the way.

Why would Egypt want the Pali's?

The Pali's are actually Jordanians.

There are currently still over 300,000 Pali "refugee's" living in refugee camps in Jordan.

The Arab world doesn't actually want the Pali's, except to use them as a "source" for animosity against Israel.

I’d say GOP unity is more likely to be upset by Jeb Bush.

“If the GOPe thinks they can avoid a messy primary by anointing the squish Jeb Bush they are irredeemably stupid.”
****************************************************************************************************
Well, the GOPe faction of the Ruling Elite and the Ruling Elite handmaidens in the media, are doing all they can to encourage MULTIPLE (the more the merrier from their perspective) conservatives and faux conservatives to run. It’s the standard split the conservative vote strategy and tactics.

We can DEFEAT such “split the vote” strategy THIS TIME AROUND if we coalesce around Ted Cruz early. Cruz is clearly the potential candidate the RINOs & ‘RATS fear the most. Their fear of Ted Cruz is palpable.

TIME is saying damn that Ben Carson because we need to get Jeb nominated so he can be fodder to Hillary. Yes, the liberal media trying to pick our candidate again.

If someone isn’t sure of their position on the 2nd amendment, then they ain’t the guy! Dr. Ben ain’t the guy. Surgeon General maybe (like we even need one) but not potus material. Sorry. No I’m not. Besides which, running as an Uncle Tom will NOT swing the black vote to him.

I don’t think he’ll run. A proud and intelligent man as he is has got to realize what the rest of us can see, and that he’s not ready to run for president. If he’s serious about politics he needs to run for an elected office and gain some experience actually governing.

Cruz for me. I don’t foresee him making any big mistakes.

No, his views are still evolving and he doesn’t seem to “get” the 2nd amendment at all.

People whose views are changing should not be considered Presidential material.

This is why I have no hope for the conservative movement. No candidate will ever be GOOD ENOUGH for many “true conservatives”. We cannot unite around anyone - there is always something the potential candidate is deficient in.

I thought one of the biggest viewpoints among conservatives is that we were sick of professional politicians.

Ironically, that seems to be the biggest “difficiency” criticism of Dr. Carson. Couldn’t an educated person who has respect for the Constitution and for our American values, who is a person of good moral character - could not that person make a good president without having been a lawyer or a professional politician?

Dr Carson was not a “community activist” - he was a highly trained doctor who also happened to head up a medical department of a major hospital - he HAS HAD some real world experience.

I don’t know if he is a good orator/debater and I don’t know what will happen to him in the primaries, but doesn’t he have the right to make his case and go for it?

And, it’s interesting to me that one poster on this thread made the case that Dr Carson’s running will only divide the GOP vote and help Jeb Bush win the nomination - isn’t that the same argument that some Freepers poo-pooed who refused vote for Romney?

The NYT promoting Carson?
I’d be willing to bet they did the same thing with The Pizza Guy in 2011

They’ve, the Ben Carson PAC, already called me. Just a few days after the November election. I told them I liked him but it was too early for me to start passing out money for the 2016 elections.

Per usual, he’s a GOPe plant to fracture the conservative vote. This is a Bush machine operation through and through, taking advantage of Carson’s ego and ambitions, and his handlers’ ambitions and greed.

Please, Freepers, see through this this time!

I’m inclined to support Dr. Carson but I know what you mean. Conservatives are often their own worse enemies plus we have a lot of people still pining for Palin etc. We’d be blessed to have someone like Carson run. That our politics would exclude individuals like him shows how broken the system really is.

I don’t especially care for Carson. But if he ran third party against Christie or Bush, I would vote for him.

Agreed, but Carson would make a good running mate.
