Fewer US-Born Americans Have Jobs Now Than In 2007

Fewer Americans born in the U.S. have jobs now than were employed to November 2007, despite a working-age population growth of 11 million.

The amazing drop in employment highlights President Barack Obama’s slow recovery from the deep 2008 shock, but also spotlights many companies’ growing reliance on foreign migrant labor.

Almost one in every two jobs added since 2009 have gone to foreign-born workers.

In November 2014, one in every five U.S. jobs was held by a foreign-born worker, up from one-in-six jobs in January 2010, according to federal data highlighted by the Center for Immigration Studies.

Since November 2007, the number of working legal and illegal migrants has risen by two million, from 23.1 million in November 2007 to 25.1 million in November 2014.

But the number of Americans with jobs has fallen by 1.5 million, from 124 million in November 2007 to 122.6 million November 2014.

“All of the net gain in employment since 2007 has gone to immigrants (legal and illegal). … Native employment has still not returned to pre-recession levels, while immigrant employment already exceeds pre-recession level,” said a Dec. 19 statement from the group.

The job transfer from Americans to immigrants has accelerated since the economy bottomed out in mid-2009.

Obama's economic recovery and his non-enforcement of immigration laws have put legal American citizens at the back of the line for jobs.

It’s not just that: the expensive obligations of the ACA make it impractical for many businesses to actually hire full-time workers, plus government is hostile to family-owned business.

Amazing isn’t it.

Just anecdotal evidence , in my area, most fast food workers appear to be people who.were not born in this country. Can’t comment on their immigration status, but clearly they are not native born.

I travel a lot for business to all parts of the country, and people such as hotel workers, far from the border, all appear to be Mexican or other Latino workers.

People running airport concessions are predominantly foreign born.

Others may have such examples. How much of this is due to american born people not wanting to work in menial jobs vs. The fact that foreign born workers will take these jobs is an ongoing debate.

We bring in 1.1 million LEGAL PERMANENT IMMIGRANTS A YEAR, along with 640,000 guest workers annually. The real problem is LEGAL IMMIGRATION. We are bringing in too many people and there is no correlation between the number of LEGAL IMMIGRANTS and our job needs.

Illegal aliens are a problem, but it is LEGAL IMMIGRATION that has been killing us. We have just had the two largest decades of LEGAL IMMIGRATION in our history. During the period 1990-2010, we admitted 27 million LEGAL PERMANENT IMMIGRANTS.

I am familiar with some manufacturing and meat-processing facilities around here, and almost all of the people working on the lines are foreign-born.

These are jobs Americans won’t do?

When I was growing up in the ‘60’s and ‘70’s, these were exactly the kind of jobs some people in my neighborhood had, so at least those Americans would do those jobs.

The world has decided that it doesn’t need a middle class. Not even in the USA. Too much trouble. Just peasants and oligarchs. The Brazil model applies.

Similar hiring of foreigners in the high tech electronics and computer industry. Sometimes top graduates at highest- rated American universities right next door to the companies are not even allowed interviews.

If you’ve got to derive an income no matter what, in the coming years you’re going to have to look at what the new populace is buying and create a niche for yourself. That, or open a security wall building company if you’re in a larger city. Get used to a greater level of general lawlessness, loss of respect for private property and the behavioral changes that have to be made to negotiate such an environment. Certain Latin American countries spring to mind, as well as urban South Africa. Find a way to cope and to support yourself and your dependents if not prosper. It’s not as if we’re being given a choice any longer. It’s adapt or emigrate, and I have nowhere else to go to be honest.

At a wedding recently, talking to some awesome, smart, able young college kids (some even in ROTC) - can’t find even internships.

I went to the hospital for a procedure recently. All foreigners; all rude and creepy as hell. Dirty sheets and all. Welcome to India.

True. I have to wonder about this whole fast food thing, why not bring back potlucks? We did that at work and with the aid of a crock pot or two the food was way better, cheaper, and fun.

We are still “the marketplace”, but not for too much longer if we don’t start taking our dollar votes much more seriously.

That’s terrible.

I’ve been through two years of cancer surgery, radiation treatments, and associated follow-ups with exactly the opposite experience. I feel very blessed.

I have a question for you. If the 55 million people who were aborted since 1973 were here, how would we be doing right now? And that doesn’t include the children who only lived to be a single cell because of the pill.

This is the one that bothered me the most...

“Overall, Obama has announced plans to give work permits to an extra six million migrants, in addition to the roughly eight million legal migrants that will arrive during his eight years in the White House. That adds up to almost one new foreign worker for every two Americans who tun 18.”

One new foreign worker for every two Americans who turn 18.

One third of the future. Planned Parenthood succeeding. Replacing us with who?

Think about it. The communists are eugenicists. They all support abortion for citizens but allow in others. What are they really doing? Bringing in people who don’t want to work or who do want to work? If they don’t want to work or are communist, then we know there will be a further loss of freedom.
