Tim Tebow Just Announced Incredibly Exciting News

“A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.”

-Matthew 7:18

As if people needed another reason to like and support Heisman Trophy winner and former NFL quarterback, Tim Tebow. His foundation- The Tim Tebow Foundation, has announced its intentions of opening the Tebow CURE Hospital in Davao City, Philippines, which will focus on serving children suffering from orthopedic needs who can’t afford treatment or corrective procedures.

The hospital is the culmination of a partnership between Tebow’s organization and CURE International, a non-profit “that operates charitable hospitals and programs in 30 countries worldwide where patients experience the life-changing message of God’s love for them [while] receiving surgical treatment regardless of gender, religion, or ethnicity.” The hospital will have 30 beds and a 50-plus member staff which will serve the medical needs of poor children in the Philippines.

From The Christian Post-

The Tim Tebow Foundation announced in a press release that the hospital, which has been in the works since 2011, officially received its operating license from the health department last week and is already caring for impoverished children. However, the hospital’s grand opening will not happen until spring 2015.

“I have always had a great love and passion for the Filipino people,” Tebow, the founder of the foundation, said in a statement. “It is so exciting to be able to provide healing and care for these incredibly deserving children halfway around the world.”

The main conditions that hospital will specialize in are clubfoot, bowed legs, cleft palate and other congenital limb abnormalities that are commonly treated in the Western world.

“These are simple procedures we take for granted in the U.S.,” Executive Director of the Tim Tebow Foundation Erik Dellenback, said. “The reality is that we hope to show people in the Philippines that there is faith, hope and love out there. We want to show them that the Western world cares about them and that they’re not a deserted nation.”

Tebow has an intimate connection to the Philippines- it’s where his mother Pam gave birth to him against the advice of doctors who treated her. The doctors said that preborn Tebow’s body was a “fetal tumor,” causing her illness. Doctors advised her to abort her baby if she wanted to live. She refused, Tim survived, and he continues to be a blessing to people around the world.

Though I would love to see Tim back on the gridiron on Sunday’s, I’d much rather him continue to do these kinds of things- being a good ambassador for Christ. He’s letting his, “light shine before others, that they may see [his] good deeds and glorify [God] in heaven.”

God bless him.

It’s amazing that this guy is vilified.

In the meantime, a trainload of knuckleheads is praised.

WHAT a slap in the face to all those Philippine politicians, wealthy people, famous people and business people: RELIEF for their own needy children has to come from the generosity of a foreigner, an American football player.

The money is there. SHAME ON THEM.

Considering the anti-Christian atmosphere that exists in the world today ( Satan knows his time is short ), I can understand the dislike, if not downright hate, for someone like Tim.

Tim Tebow is a good person.

I’ve always respected him.

I agree. Too bad he didn’t succeed as a QB in the NFL. Such a good example for kids (and adults).

It is the nature of fallen creatures to question the Creator when it comes to matters of health and well-being. “If you are the Christ, come down from the cross and save yourself!”

In reality, the Creator draws nearest in love to His creation where poor sinners are at their wits end and suffering from all kinds of affliction. The Cross is proof of this, not to mention being conceived and born into the same flesh as we who exchanged the truth for a lie. The resurrection is proof the best is yet to come after this short time of suffering. That is why there is real hope. Not the kind of hope promised by politicians who think this world is all there is.

God bless Mr. Tebo and all according to His abundant mercy.

No knowledgeable Christian believes in salvation by works, but they do understand that our faith is enhanced by our doing good works that God even prepared them beforehand for us to do. In other words, God had us in mind as helpers with Him. That’s pretty cool when you think about it.

Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, having been created in Christ Jesus for good works that God prepared beforehand so we may do them

Yes indeed. In view of eternal matters, the speed of thought far exceeds the speed of light, good works prepared ahead of time being a case in point. Christ Jesus with the Father and the Holy Spirit comprise the beginning, now, and the end of all we know, as well as what is beyond our understanding. I count it a privilege to share with you in these things, even though together our efforts are full of weakness and misunderstanding.

Where is all the thug brothers who are running the NFL into the ground with their race baiting? Where is the Hollywood
cesspool trash? Well they are busy complaining about Conservative values. That is what they are doing. Right along with all of the corrupt politicians.

Where is the horse and the rider...
Where is the horn that was blowing...
They have passed like rain on the mountains...
Like wind in the meadow...
The days have come down in the West...
Behind the hills into shadow

Marcus Mariota is a solid Christian too. He just doesn’t want it to destroy his career.

Tim gets a front row seat in Heaven.
What a breath of fresh air. I quit watching Pro sports long ago; however if he had played I would have watched I did watch him in Denver.
God has other plans for him.
