I was very active on a GOP website, but as the 2008 primaries approached, I was becoming more and more disenchanted as they were pushing Romney in the Primaries.

Being from Massachusetts, I was aware that Romneycare was a bust, and the Gay Marriage thing started there. I stated my reservations about Romney and was hounded off the site by a very vindictive administrator who was in love with Mitt.

I desperation, i turned to FR. I was welcomed with open arms and have posted many times daily ever since.

I suppose i should change my screen name at this point, but everyone knows me as “left that other site” so I guess i’ll keep it.

As long as you don’t assume the other site was DU!

rockinqsranch is the name of our ranchito in Riverside, California. It’s a family joke actually. My wife, and I had adopted two Donkeys (Burros) in 1992 from the BLM, and the Jenny was pregnant. A little jack was born, and then there were three. Two Jacks, and a Jenny.

Then came the horses. By 1995 we had four horses, and the three Burros. The Ranchito had been jokingly named “El Ranchito Burrito” up to that point, but now with all the horses we needed a new name. We thought long about it, and finally after we obtained the fourth horse we changed the name of the ranchito to better reflect who we really are. It became the Rockin’ QS Ranch.

Two people, man and wife with three Donkeys, four horses, six dogs (at the time), sixteen cats (at the time), a couple of Ducks, and Chickens equaled “The Rockin’ Questionable Sanity Ranch”.

Randomly picked the acronym out of my AH-64 -10 Operators Manual the day I signed up. Could have been anything, I suppose. That was just the first thing that jumped out at me.

acad1228:

Well, I'm a draftsman and I use AutoCAD.

The command to start that program is "acad.exe".

And the 1228?

Um.... I've got a birthday coming up.

Great thread idea! I looked around my desk for inspiration the only thing I saw was a bronze pencil. Boring, I know, but it beats mousepad or coffee cup. At least I think it does haha.

Fone, I’d be perfectly content at this point to roll back government spending to that of the “good olde” Clinton days.

Greetings PROCON:

FReeper name origin?

Following the September 11, 2001 recall to active duty, I was hungry for news during off-duty hours, but found myself very disappointed by an obviously biased MSM.

Through a search engine, stumbled upon Free Republic, began lurking during off duty time via the military computer system. Found FReepers background diverse, extremely resourceful, well informed, and loyal Americans. Good company, indeed.

Unfortunately, any participating upon the FreeRepublic forum from a taxpayer provided resource would not have been improper. Before long, the value of a cool FReeper screen name was obvious. When an opportunity to sign up from our home personal computer presented itself, OneLoyalAmerican became a newbie FReeper.

Cheers,
OLA
