A hostage has been forced to hold up an Islamic State flag in the window of a shop in Martin Place that is currently under siege.
It is believed there are 12 hostages in the store and an ISIS flag has been placed in the window.
Martin Place is the main financial area of the Sydney CBD.

Uber is reportedly charging its users in downtown Sydney a minimum $100, a result of surge pricing introduced in the midst of an armed hostage crisis, Mashable has learned.
An executive in the city’s Central Business District (CBD) sent Mashable screenshots of the Uber app that show the company is charging up to four-times the normal rate because “demand is off the charts.”

I thought about that too. There must be some type of agent which will put them to sleep without killing them.
On the other hand that is what the Russians tried and it ended up killing some of the innocents and the terrorists were able to kill a whole bunch more before they succomed.
Still they were in a no win situation as I suspect the Aussies are also.

One man claims to have narrowly avoided becoming a hostage himself after bumping into the gunman following his purchase from the cafe
Hundreds of office workers, including barristers and government workers, were seen being evacuated from buildings in the immediate area
Those hostages are already dead. The terrorists are just waiting for wider coverage in Europe. These are not terrorists with a goal of making a deal.
They just care about killing people.
It is sad that we will drag this out until the entire world is watching.
I am praying for the hostages.
