A hostage has been forced to hold up an Islamic State flag in the window of a shop in Martin Place that is currently under siege.
It is believed there are 12 hostages in the store and an ISIS flag has been placed in the window.
Martin Place is the main financial area of the Sydney CBD.

SAS are unlikely just for reasons of geography - they are based on the other side of the country.
But there are two Commando Regiments, and a Navy Clearance Diving Team, all with people in Sydney - all trained in the type of skills needed in a situation like this one.

I think you think I’m defending muzzies in some way. That’ll never happen. Muzzies are muzzies and need to be “disappeared” from the face of the planet. The sooner, the better. Should have happened long ago. Then we wouldn’t have these hostages praying they’ll get out of this alive, and all of us praying for the same.

First thing I looked up was where their SAS is based, it’s a long flight from the capital.
One report was that the muzzie goat humper wants to make a public statement. Then presumably kill the hostages ISIS style.
Given that, it seems there’s nothing to negotiate here. Naturally the police want to use their negotiation team because they have one. But the reality here is that there’s a terrorist target that needs to be destroyed. That’s what the military is for and the longer this is a police op just increases the chances of all the hostages dying.
