Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La., says she probably won't run for office again.
"Oh Lord, no," Landrieu, 59, told reporters when asked if another campaign, perhaps for governor in 2015 or the Senate in 2016, was in her future.
"Well, let me say, I'm not going to say a definite 'no' about any of those two," Landrieu said. "I've been trained to never say no. But it is highly, highly unlikely."

Matthew Lehner, her communications director, said he expects her farewell address later Thursday to be upbeat, and reflect on some of the contributions - such as oil and gas revenue sharing and hurricane disaster relief - that she helped bring to the state in her 18 years in office.

18 years of all the money she could steal and secrete, 18 years of crony padding, Senate resources and connections, 18 years for a Senate Pension, and an 18 year repertoire of corruption she can bring to K Street lobbying firms.

She’s not going into seclusion. But I do think she’ll be into some type action being
lobbying, working in a agency as a PR or service provider. I however don’t think they’ll
move back to LA in the immediate future because of her husband’s Real Estate business.
The voters liberated her from having to phoney up and cover for her beloved corruptocrats who deserted her anyway. She’s now free from having to play the ‘loyal foot soldier’ to her Demented lieberal heads in DC.
Between jobs, liberals are sometimes hired by Fannie and Freddy, with exorbitant salaries.
Mary, don't forget to tell your twin sister what it feels like to go down humiliatingly into defeat.
That struck me too. She has been trained to not say no?? She is trained to say things??? What the heck??? What kinds of people trained her and do they still pull her strings??? And aren’t elected officials supposed to do the public business not be puppets with someone pulling their strings??? Holy Toledo.
That makes her a perfect K Street candidate.
Why take a pay cut? Lobbying pays much better.
And don’t forget the eighteen years of insider trading.
I can’t see a reason why she even wants to return to DC with all the money she has accumulated.
The time has come to spend it and enjoy its convenience.
Right you are! This is Louisiana. She is SO connected in so many ways( whole family is) she never has to work again. AND there is a mostly invisible husband to support her in her unemployment! Memories are short- she is stung now, but she will run again. Power is addictive and the Landrieus are a political dynasty that will not give up the status or income.Watch for one of her kids entering politics in the meantime.
