Since the Republicans regained control of the House of Representatives, we expected wonderful changes to come. We once again had control over the house along with having the ability to have some control over what was taking place to our Country.
We knew that President Obama was a rogue President who had control over both houses. This left the Republican Party with virtually nothing they could do. Even when President Obama’s own party did not agree with him. He would simply use executive privilege and pass it anyway.
After the election and the Republicans gained control over the House of Representatives. Republicans now had the ability pull in the reigns of the President even if he did use executive Privilege. Since Congress has control over the nation’s Budget as stated in Article I Section 8 of the Constitution. Congress has the ability to refuse to fund any laws or acts that required funding. Speaker Boehner however never allowed the House to vote against funding laws Obama passed through Executive privilege.
As a result over the following two years, the President routinely went around Congress without fear of Congress doing anything about it. The most the Republican Party managed to get was an occasional empty threat by an ineffective Speaker of the House. This is why over the past two years we have heard virtually nothing from the House of Representatives. Speaker Boehner blamed it on the Democratic controlled Senate. Yesterday he proved this was not the case.
Even knowing that come January the Republican Party will have control over both Houses. Speaker Boehner elected to endorse a one year extension on the Budget. This is why it is imperative that Congress forces Boehner to resign as soon as possible.

The least we can do, is not let the voters forget their betrayal and vote them out asap. I know these are leagues of lawyers and it is like pinning down a pealed grape. However, their lives should be as uncomfortable as the citizens that elected them can make it. Be in their face constantly until they are voted out or run out like thieves in the night.

You are indeed....correct. But....it would be a strange situation to have the Speaker of the House.......a sitting Senator.
I would go with Sarah or Allan as well. Allan would probably do better as he's got the "House" experience. But....I understand that Sarah is a fast learner.
It’s not quite as horrible as the headline makes it sound.
First of all, it doesn’t affect congressional redistricting:
“The plan would not change Ohio’s congressional redistricting process, in which a panel of lawmakers draws maps that are approved by a vote of both chambers.”
“Lawmakers dropped plans to change the congressional map-drawing process after concerns were raised the changes might conflict with a U.S. Supreme Court decision expected next year regarding Arizona’s redistricting process.”
And as for state legislative districts, the new process isn’t *that* much different from the old one:
“Currently, a five-member panel composed of three statewide officeholders and two state lawmakers draws maps for the state House and Senate districts every 10 years. The panel has drawn districts to be safer for party incumbents, which critics say cheats voters from deciding their representatives.
The plan passed by the Senate would establish a seven-member commission composed of the governor, secretary of state, state auditor and two members from each chamber and from each of the majority and minority parties. The commission would draw district lines according to several criteria aimed at keeping counties and communities in the same district.”
And while the new system ostensibly gives each party a “veto” when both the state senator and state representative from the party that are in the commission vote against a particular redistricting plan, it’s a rather toothless veto:
“A map would need approval from at least two members of the minority party to pass. Any map that does not receive two minority member votes would only be good for four years instead of 10.
In the Senate-approved version, the second time the panel doesn’t get minority approval, the map would be in place for six years. During that time, the panel’s makeup could change.”
So it’s not a capitulation by Republicans as the headline would have us believe, and I’m guessing that one of the reasons why al but one senate Republican voted for it is because it won’t change things that much but will take pressure aay from making more drastic changes (sure, the League of Women Voters will continue to b1tch, but the odds of another change being made would be quite low).
Unfortunately, we're stuck with this not-so-great compromiser. Great ready for a couple more miserable years ahead of us.

Duncan in Knoxville voted against the bill. And I thought Chuck would be
better than Wamp. Apparently not.
A state cannot recall a federal official. Congress does not recognize recall petitions.
Jimmy Duncan is reasonably consistent on important issues and appears to study the bills & issues before voting. But Chuck has been around Corker too long I'm afraid. The city of Oak Ridge in Chuck's District is for all practical purposes now a refuge city for illegals. That's a bad deal considering the assets there.
I'm literally right on the line of the two congressional districts. If I step across my property line to my south then I'm in Duncan's district. I need a land swap :>}
Anybody who has a Republican rep. ought to call them & tell them to vote against Boehner.
Also, you can write a short letter to editor and tell your neighbors in you district to do the same, and tell them why Boehner needs to go (just in case some don’t know why).
Boehner did this to PREVENT any change. He can’t afford to listen to voters or the wishes of voters. IOW he can’t do his job.

Boehner’s attitude is the problem on a political level.
