Given all the attention paid to sexual assault on college campuses in recent months, you'd think a Justice Department report showing that the campus rape and assault rate had dropped 52% since 1997 would attract a lot of attention.

The counter argument, of course, is that students are becoming more and more afraid to report the assaults.
Much like Salons ‘how many people are being killed by guns’
project.
When they didn’t get a high enough count they began the meme that only half of the killings were being reported.
Very good information, thank you for posting this article.
Thanks for the post.
You know, this is an excellent case in point, that it’s not just the slanted reporting from a Leftist perspective that is bad. There are stories that are flat out not being told at all.
The Leftist narrative must prevail. Nothing that counters it can be allowed to see the light of day.
That’s why we more and more see articles from some decent papers in Britain, reporting on things we won’t hear about in the United States.
Pravda was bad, but it was forced.
What we have to today is also bad, but it is voluntary. We have a propagandist media being disguised as a free press. Sure they’re free to print what they want. They don’t think they need to be free to tell the full complete truth.
Liberals have enough control over the media that they decide what they want the story to be and then they shop around for it — or make it up.
It’s not that UK media is any more decent than US media - it’s more that they like to run unflattering pieces about the US, and a lot of those unflattering stories reflect badly on Dems.
I would agree with that. None the less, at least we get to read about it.

It’s just because women are afraid to report it.(S)
One of the things I have found surprising is the comments section of the UK Daily Mail. It is tabloid-ish, but I usually see more comments from Americans that go against the lefty narrative than the opposite.

I’m sure there are groups that target the comments section on these stories. The various marching feminazi types.
So we were told it was 20% are raped and it’s actually about .03%? Typical.
Why isn’t it getting attention? It doesn’t fit the narrative.
The assault on economic rights has risen — faculty unions.
No one addresses that.
For the democrats (might as well call them for what they are for the most part which is Marxists) everything is a “war”. If the male on male sexual assault (dare we call it rape) were to approach 0.03% would it be newsworthy.
Its all about the narrative. I had a debate with my nephew on the white cops kill young black men meme. Once I began to win on the significant points and threw in some stats and mentioned aborting black babies, he said that he didn’t know the stats but that it was about the perception and the “narrative” and said he wasn’t comfortable continuing the debate because we’re close relatives and he just wants to talk about family. I said okay. He started the conversation so I figured I would let him end it. I do love the young man and his heart is good.
