When I was a kid living in the hills of Marin County (just north of SF), I used to live for days like this. My friend and I would go to the normally-dry creekbed on the property and build earthen dams against the rushing torrent. I’d have to be hosed off before I was allowed back inside the house.

Amazingly, we still have power here. I don’t expect that to last long as the wind is really kicking up and our power infrastructure is fragile.
The Weather Channel has some great pictures of 7 foot waves on the lake.
Should be an interesting next day or two

I’m watching webcams from Humboldt County, where the Fern River near Ferndale has gone from 4 feet to 8 feet deep in the last 12 hours, and is predicted to top out at 20 feet in the next 24. Man, that’s some heavy rainfall.

Blackouts in most cities result in an uptick in births nine months later. I imagine this blackout will result in an uptick in AIDS, gonorrhea, anal fissures, etc.

They’re always upset with all those carbon polluting power sources so don’t fix anything. They want to go back to a cleaner more green time and this puts them another big step in that direction.
Suffer assholes.
