Not just “ghetto” per se, but in cases of “death by cop”, in most case, it seems to me that the person had many previous run-ins with the law, and knew exactly what to do in order to have the cops shoot first and ask questions later.

Yes it would. But even using a handgun and shooting one’s self in the head isn’t always a fool proof method of suicide. The death rate by suicide by self inflicted gunshot is at 90%. Good aim and a basic understanding of human anatomy and the choice of ballistics and a commitment to purpose is everything. : (
In approximately 10% of suicide attempts by self inflicted gunshots, they don’t succeed in killing themselves, but then they often end up with serious injuries that sometimes result in a lifelong disability. But they and their families still have to live with the consequences. As if successful suicides are not destructive enough to the family and friends left behind, dealing with a failed attempt that leaves the person alive but incapacitated for life and dependent on their care for the rest of their lives must be in some ways just as bad. So sad.

First movie I thought of.
While it is unlikely that there is a common thread, it would make an interesting novel. Something like an illegal drug, maybe, favored by wealthy banker types. Heavy on the Schadenfreude.
It could even be a Monty Python style black comedy. What would the social impact be if the high stress banker and financial types around the world decided to all commit suicide?
Something like the 2002 Japanese cult movie Suicide Club.

In that movie, teenage Japanese girls start committing suicide, sometimes in large groups, though there is no clear link as to why. And while people naturally want to protect teenage girls, they definitely don’t have the same feelings about bankers.

Ignoring the rude whine of one rude boy, I agree it is not the usual way privileged people off themselves. Pills, handguns, shot guns, and/or bleedouts are way ahead of leaping from tall places. But with murders, any method is used.
Do your banking online, and avoid the crossfire. LOL
