What the hell is happening in America? Are some people so threatened by the election of Barack Obama that it's open season on minorities? How did we come to this unequal and disturbing place where a white 18-year-old can carry a gun into a grocery store legally, yet an unarmed black teen is killed for being tall? Or wearing a hoodie? Or playing with a toy gun?

Many things have been said about Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, Michael Brown and so many others. They were using marijuana. They were selling illegal cigarettes. They were menacing. They robbed someone. And, the catch-all phrase "they are thugs." Let's say 100 percent of those things are true and accurate. None of those are capital offenses and we don't empower our citizenry or our police to enforce summary executions in some real life version of the Sylvester Stallone stinker Judge Dredd.

At the heart of the unending worldwide protests around the recent grand jury decisions is the dark reality that our justice system is fundamentally broken. Neither our justice system nor our society is color-blind or equality-minded. Grand juries are made up of citizens, as are juries. That justice wasn't served in New York, Ferguson or Florida is not at all surprising when you consider that 77 percent of whites in America thought Darren Wilson should not be indicted, while 54 percent of non-whites thought he should....

Not capital offenses at all. That is why it didn't make any sense to resist arrest. By not resisting, they would have been out the next morning on their own recognizance. The cops were doing their jobs. The perps escalated it.

I sense that either you are a white liberal full of guilt or a black that takes everything that is done by Obama as good!

Can you name anything good that comes from this Administration that was beneficial for blacks or even the middle class? I’ve seem many things that helped the upper class, especially the Stock Market owners but who else has benefited?

Blacks and actually most of middle America has lost jobs, lost wages, and lost hope for the future. Where do you fit into this glorious future? This is the current Democratic platform!

It has nothing to do with Omama’s half-color but it has everything to do with the Democratic Party and their laws and regulations passed along with their ideas about freedom and the direction of the country.

You need to get a better grip on your future if you are going to succeed (unless you are retired and don’t care). If you have children or grand-children, you should be more concerned!

The author tries to frame Obama’s election as the reason for white discontent; I would suggest that BLACKS are more unhappy with it at this point: They aren’t getting the free gasoline and mortgage payments they expected, and they’ve watched a “black” president push the agenda of wealthy white liberals.

Many blacks really believed their lots in life would improve with Obama’s election, and six years later they are noticeably worse off than before. I suspect in the minds of Michael Brown & Company, if things suck this badly under a black president then they have nothing at all to look forward to when a white person (from either party) is back in the White House.
