Jonathan Gruber, the man at the center of Obamacare’s troubled public image, apologized to Congress for “glib” and “thoughtless” comments about the stupidity of the American voters and how the health overhaul passed, arguing he is no political expert and shouldn’t have posed as one in speeches around the country.
“It’s never appropriate to try to make oneself seem more important or smarter by demeaning others. I knew better. I know better. I’m embarrassed, and I’m sorry,” Mr. Gruber, an economics professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, told the House oversight committee chaired by Rep. Darrell Issa, California Republican.

He gave the same answer to most every question - "I'm a PhD, a MIT professor, but made up inappropriate statements to make me look smart."
He needs to be in jail.
That was an amazingly honest statement.

I’m sure no one at MIT or any of the other liberal institutions Gruber spoke at objected to his comments. Academia thinks they’re so superior to the rest of us that they can steal our money, play us for fools, then laugh about how gullible we are.

I forget what speech it was but at one of them the audience actually laughed when he insulted the rest of us.
That made me angrier than the original comment did.

Oh the contempt I used to have for these fuzzy headed fools! The disdain! But while I'll was mastering the basic laws of the universe, the rigorous discipline of mathematics, the philosophers, the journalists, the politicians, the ENGLISH TEACHERS, they were mastering MEN and becoming all our masters. These fuzzy headed Grubers were busy constructing out moral codes , our laws and yet the insidious battle they were waging was dismissed by me with a wave of contempt! Dismissed while good men died fighting for THEIR non-sense. Dismissed while the bright world of reason given birth by the enlightenment continued to decay, while the science that I was working so hard to learn was being turned into a witchcraft brew embracing global warning pseudoscience scares. Who was the real fool in the end? Who was it that had their eyes on the real prize?
