Technically, that wouldn’t constitute strangulation. Insufficient oxygen, but not strangulation, which is what that part of the discussion was about.

None of us get out of life alive.

Mr. Dietl needs to speak with “Fox News Sunday’s” Chris Wallace, who apparently has a PhD in conventional wisdom.

Well put. In the end Wallace is still a denizen of the echo chamber. He could easily have learned for himself that it isn't just police apologists who know this about the Garner case, but he didn't think he needed to-- he already just somehow knew.

I can’t.

I don’t know exactly why this man died.

After watching the arrest video at least 50 times, I can tell you that none of those police intended to kill him via arrest.

No technique that would specifically kill him was employed.

So I am going to assume, and this is an assumption on my part, that he died because he was not a healthy man, and that day was his time.

And I am also going to say that yes I do feel sorry for him. I’m sad that he died that way, even though I do not agree with his behavior that day.

But I would not hold any of the police responsible for his death, because they are not responsible for his death.

You said if he was being strangled how did he talk, or words to that effect.

His airway was being constrained. He was likely over breathing his supply of air due to his health, the excitement, and the cops arm around his throat. So to him it would feel as if he couldn’t breath.

Wow...
So, as a result of plain strangulation, the man’s hyoid bone was broken, right? I mean as is a very common result in deaths by strangulation?

Here’s to you knowing NOTHING AT ALL.

/cheers.

The technique used is illegal because it can result in deaths.

Maybe you should google why he was being arrested and who ordered his arrest.

Educate yourself, driftdiver.

Didn’t carry any weight with the grand jury, did it?

Nope.

And it doesn’t carry any weight with me either.

And if YOU don’t care what I think, then why the Hell are you talking with me about this?

I’m not necessarily countering that assertion, but I am curious as to why that person is never mentioned or discussed, nor is her role in this matter.

Her skin color does not seem to be of any particular importance, however it is my understanding that she was the one who ordered his arrest.

Police have a higher level of protection during the course of their duties than you or I do.

No, no it is not, and according to the officer’s testimony, that technique was tahught to him in the academy.

Except when they use illegal techniques.

Of course it’s rarely enforced with cops which is why they keep doing it.

I’m not supporting it, but he has to live by the laws of the society in which he dwells, does he not?

Does this man not have the opportunity to vote for the politicians enacting such laws?

Your emotions are completely irrational on this, driftdiver.

Yes I’m sure he’s been taught a lot of creative ways to avoid the letter of the law.

True. However, it is when certain events speed the result along its way.
